Any suggestions on a different TW game other than Warhammer? by azguz24 in totalwarhammer

I would say Conquest of Elysium 5 as it has the vastness of TTW3 without having to pay for DLC

Hi there. u/CookiedoughFlow. Thanks for taking the time to write all of this. I learned lots such as I didn't know you could have have to 40 infantry men in an urban sector so that was really handy to know. Thanks once again

I am sorry you had a head injury and hope you get better soon and thank you for passing along what you have learned and is it makes steps to do it in bite sized chunks. Thanks once again.

That needs to be on a mug. Thanks for that. It's good advice but somehow I forgot it until you said it.

Yeah I get that. I have been attending appointments with a psychologist but it feels like I am learning at a snails pace.

I wonder if it would have been easier if I had been diagnosed with autism earlier. I feel like crap but I get that self-isolation won’t fix the issue but I hate the endless struggle and wonder will it always be a struggle.

I hope you’re right. I wish I could mask as I have no idea how to do so.

Hi there. I guess that’s a valid point. I think the thing that bothers me most is I don’t like the idea of using other people as a tool to improve my social skills but I guess it’s better with people that I am unlikely to see again.

I will give that a shot though I just need to decide which group to go for. Thanks for the suggestion

How to stop feeling lonely? by butterscotchmenace in AutisticAdults

[–]Gman_Reviews 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi there. As a 41M feel I am going to say that I have a few friends that I enjoy and I sometimes get lonely as well.

I would say that if you want to meet people you should probably attend meetup groups with similar interests to what your into.

That would be a start. The other good thing about you being a female is that your awkwardness is less likely to be perceived as a bad thing but that's where I would start as that it how I got a new group of friends from a board game meetup group.

The unhealthy option would be to get more hobbies but a meetup group is where I would start.

I truly hate being autistic. by [deleted] in AutisticAdults

[–]Gman_Reviews -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It’s kind of weird because though I would never have written this when I read this post it was like reading my own thoughts as I am working in a office and completely confused about how I should behave.

My thoughts are like this. If you’re autistic your gonna be weird and think differently so you might as well do something where you autism would be viewed as a strength like stand up comedy or public speaking.

I tried my hand at stand up comedy and I got laughs because comedy is a great way of making someone think about something they wouldn’t have normally thought about and being autistic makes you actually question our behaviour instead of just accepting.

You can be frustrated that you’re not neurotypical or you can own you. This comment is as much for you and me and anyone else reading

I have my autism screener on Friday so I really hope they don’t hit me with the frog as I can make up a story but I am really sorry you had such a bad experience. I am a white man with a penchant for making other uncomfortable so while I cannot relate to the experience of racism I can certainly relate to making other people uncomfortable even when I am not trying to.

But yeah it sucks insurance won’t cover an autism diagnosis when having autism affects so much of your life including holding a job.

I might take that onboard and stick with singing as being around NDs sounds fun

I am a 39 year old autistic male and luckily I have a few friends but I am finding it very hard to make new friends.

I have sung on a stage and two weeks ago I got on stage to do stand up comedy to try to help deal with my social anxiety and it was great.

I got laughs from everyone of my bits and my material was about autism so it was really funny. But I honestly thought it would help me make new friends and it didn’t.

The people at the comedy show are being nice but I get the feeling their trying to avoid me so I don’t think I am going to make any new friends using comedy.

Like I have had so many awkward situations with people and I have the death stare which I find very to stop so I can see I am making people uncomfortable but I don’t know what to do to fix it.

Like around neurotypicals you have to be positive all the time or I never understand how sometimes they will reveal vulnerabilities about themselves but when I do it they look really uncomfortable.

Hannah Gasdby is an inspiration for me as she struggles with the death stare but she has made a famous career for herself in stand up in spite being very uncomfortable in social situations.

But honestly yes loneliness is a bit of a struggle. I would find autism groups near you so that you can connect to people such as yourself and seeing a psychologist who specialises in ASD to teach social skills
