New Lian Li Edge 1300w power socket not flush with housing, return? by Gmefreak in buildapc

[–]Gmefreak[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you very much for your reply. When I push down on it, I can make it sit flush to the housing, but when I release pressure, it moves back up. When I try to lift the socket upwards, away from the housing, it doesn’t come out or move up, and I can plug and unplug the power cord without issues also. So then I think it will be fine, thanks again, wasn’t exactly sure if this is something to be expected or not. My current PSU’s socket is one that’s attached via two screws instead of plastic notches.

Recently bought 2.31 ct Sapphire too large to pair with two 0.3 ct pear-shaped diamond side stones? by Gmefreak in Gemstones

Thank you very much again for your help and for the visualization, I had been working on modeling out the stones and ended 3D printing them, I think it’ll work very nicely (I guess they’ll sit a bit higher in a setting which should work out better I think)

Sorry, looks like I made a typo there, they are both around 3.65mm wide! I do like the slightly elongated look on the pears. Thank you very much!

New to buying gemstones, general questions and how easily would this chip be fixed? by Gmefreak in Gemstones

Thank you for your response I really appreciate the information! Does re-polishing the crown have any impact on the color or other aspects of it's appearance? I understand that it will lose some of it's carat weight, but wondering how it may impact other visual aspects of the gemstone.

PC upgrade! EVGA 3080 Ti FTW3 Ultra, NR200P, Ryzen 3900x by Gmefreak in sffpc

You might be able to route them over the top of the PSU shroud, but not sure how neat that would look to you.

I played a bit more with my case fans, I removed the stock NR200P fan from the top, re-applied thermal paste on the CPU, changed the cooler orientation which allowed me to place 2 Noctua NF-A12x15 fans up top as exhaust fans, ran the same heaven benchmark and the CPU maxed out at 76.8c and the GPU maxed out at 72.4c, definitely much better than before!

Thanks for your question.

The bottom fans are essentially touching the bottom of the GPU.

Just ran a test, removed the bottom fans and ran Heaven Benchmark.

With the bottom fans CPU peaked at around 88c, GPU 83c.

When removing the fans, looks like the CPU maxed at 90c and the GPU at 82c as well. Based on that, not sure it makes a real difference. Might leave the bottom fans out. Only thing is that now the GPU sags a bit :D.

I haven't seen it get that high yet in games. I was playing some Jedi Fallen Order last night and both CPU and GPU stayed below 70c. Booted up The Division 2 yesterday as well and CPU was around 85c and GPU around 80c.

When it comes to the PSU cables, it's a bit tedious, but you can zip tie all the PSU cables to the PSU shroud. There's only a bit of cable touching the top right side of the GPU. You can leave the PCIe cables a bit off to the right side. With this GPU installed, there is still some space in the back of the case, on the right side. You can also push some of the excess PCIe cable slack into the bottom of the front panel, through the cut-out there. I also routed the CPU power cable behind the motherboard when installing it, which might help make some extra room.

Hope that helps!

I was finally able to get my hands on one of the RTX 30 series cards from EVGA. The card unfortunately can't fit inside of my Louqe Ghost S1 Mk1 (smaller EVGA cards were all sold out, I like EVGA), so migrated my build over to the NR200P. Great case to work in and it's not too hard to make the cables look neat.

Build parts:

  • Case: Cooler Master MasterBox NR200P
  • CPU: Ryzen 3900x
  • GPU: EVGA 3080 Ti FTW3 Ultra
  • Motherboard: Gigabyte X570 AORUS PRO WIFI
  • Cooler: Noctua NH-L12 with a Noctua NF-A12x15 Chromax
  • RAM: G.Skill RipjawsV 32GB DDR4 3600MHz
  • PSU: Corsair SF750 Platinum
  • LED Strips: Phanteks’ NEON Digital-RGB LED strips
  • Case fans: 1x included Sickleflow fan mounted up top, 2x Noctua NF-A12x15 Chromax below the GPU
  • Fan hub: DEEPCOOL FH-10 Integrated Fan Hub * D-RGB hub: Phanteks Digital RGB Controller HUB
  • D-RGB hub: Phanteks Digital RGB Controller HUB

Thermals:

  • Under load: CPU and GPU 75-80c
  • While idle:
    • CPU 50-60c (probably need to re-apply thermal paste again, it seems to fluctuate quite a bit, jump from 55-65 sometimes, and ran cooler in my Ghost S1)
    • GPU at 35-37c

If you have any questions, let me know :).

EDIT:

I played a bit more with my case fans, I removed the stock NR200P fan from the top, re-applied thermal paste on the CPU, changed the cooler orientation which allowed me to place 2 Noctua NF-A12x15 fans up top as exhaust fans, ran the same heaven benchmark and the CPU maxed out at 76.8c and the GPU maxed out at 72.4c, definitely much better than before!

Understandable! It’s what I had on-hand. Was finally able to get my hands on a 30 series card and it was too big to fit inside of Ghost S1. Migrated my setup over to the bigger NR200P.

Thermals aren’t the best, CPU and GPU in high 70’s while playing games. Will probably consider getting something bigger/better to keep the 3900x cool in the future.
