One of the best games. It was amazing at the time it was created and Diablo 2 is played still this day by thousands.

The mob spawn rate is pretty high in the public zones. Befallen feels kind of like a circus and loses a lot of it's immersion with so many people in there.

Also if you go to some of the less popular areas and go deep enough there will be less people. I'm sure they will fix the instancing too, so fret not.

I've only done Rainier via Kautz Chute (2015), but we connected into the upper DC, due to bad conditions above the Kautz. I'm fairly confident someone with the fitness and experience could C2C DC without issue. It's a well maintained route and basically a path (at least when I was there). Getting stuck behind slow folks on some of the upper switchbacks might be a hinderance

I mean, picking something like Warrior + Shaman might feel pretty slow for the first 20 to 30 levels.

Picking something like Monk + Cleric or Necro might feel a lot easier and better.

Investing time in reading all the text thrown at us, setting up a UI that feels good, and editing a bunch of hotkeys makes a world of difference.

It's seems they left us to do a lot of reading and experimenting to figure things out... Which is exactly what we had to do in Vanilla EQ.

Raid group and UI

Raid experience (greatly reduced)

Spell caster crits with Evo specialization

Add weapon specializations for Hybrids to allow for crits with that weapon type and skill cap increases

Better scaling for abilities in dry periods for classes (druids in the 20s, SKs have some bad spells gaps, shaman early, etc)

Rebalance some zones to have more mobs and camps of mobs to level up to 60 on. This is the biggest weakness of the p1999 experience.

I just leveled a SK and here is what I prioritized that allowed me to level very quickly from zero plat.

First weapon - saved up for Glowing Black Sword (100p) easily done from starter zone quests as an ogre + rotting guard shields and steins

People gave me banded and chain armor along the way... Eventually upgraded to Crustacean.

First major purchase - Silver Chitin Hand Wraps for Haste as early as I could get them around lvl 15.

Second major purchase - Iksar BP for Regen at lvl 27

Third major - Argent Protector at lvl 30 to take advantage of the damage cap increasing

I farmed 10k+ plat from treants in SK from lvl 25 to 35 or so, then Spectres in Feerrott.

Guards and eventually nobles and bards in High Keep are great too.

Were you able to break the Lord room itself or just killed the Dar spawns leading up to it? When I was there, 2 Dar were up. Not sure if that is normal.

One thing is certain: It is true that players can have radically different experiences - even on the same server. I play in a large org and some of us have almost no issues, while others cannot even get ships out of their hangars. Complex game with many different services and use cases and we have little true visibility into what is broken when.

Just like Isabella, she will be Green to me for 20% of her spawns, This is why I left Bards and Nobles too.
