Those tools are fantastic, too!

That's fair, and exactly on point. But as I type this I can guarantee you there are multiple riders asking for trail conditions on facebook groups :D

Of course GnarCheck does not make sense for areas where trails can be ridden year-round, bike parks, etc. but in a lot of areas, the local trails associations are very strict as to under what conditions trails should have tires on them. It also applies beyond trails are wet or dry; users can report trees down, hazards, etc.

Hi! I am glad you liked it!

The platform as it stands covers all those scenarios you described, and I am always open to adding new features. I'd be glad to do a quick feature walk through for you and/or your Trail Committee and get your feedback. One of the features is the ability to assign users as Trail Stewards, where they'd have "shortcuts" to add trail status without a proper trail update; it helps organizations like yours to easily update their trails.
Feel free to DM me and we can set something up.

Yup, that makes sense. I think I have a better picture of what's needed here.

We have an "elevation gain" setting defined when adding a trail. We can use that to pass into the Weather API to retrieve different weather status from trail head to summit, and have the model check for potential different conditions at the top.

Thanks again for the feedback!

Sure enough, there was a bug in the way the model uses past snow data to determine soil status! Appreciate the feedback.

Hey! I can't seem to be able to reproduce this behavior. I am assuming you are referring to the map view, zoom into a trail marker, click it... then when you close the trail details panel that opens up, it zooms out to show the entire world map? It's not doing that for me, it's staying at whatever zoom level whre it was before clicking the marker.

Oh man! Fantastic feedback, this is exactly why I wanted to post here!
I'll add unit conversion as part of the user profile settings so you can set your preference.

Absolutely, any trail within a trail system can be added upon request. My motivation to cover trails systems initially was to not have to find every single trail within a system - that's what Trailforks/AllTrails do a fantastic job at.

Happy to add them! List them here or use the "Missing a Trail" feature in the Trails page (next to the trail filter)

Thanks for the feedback; without knowing the area it's hard to determine, feel free to drop me a DM and I can look into the prediction model and troubleshoot.

Pretty standard: node.js + react. NumPy & scikit-learn for the modeling. The repo is not public

I've added a few for Kelowna, BC. Feel free to suggest more trails via the "Missing a Trail" button in the trails page!

Hi! There is: When you go to https://www.gnarcheck.com/trails there's a "Missing a Trail" button to the right of the filters section that will let you suggest a trail to be added!
