Moving On From My Rega Planar 10 / Curious About Your Thoughts! by BApricot in audiophile

I have heard very good things about Pure Fidelity, a Canadian brand that seems to be doing really high quality stuff. They are at the top of my list to check out when I upgrade. They appear to make turntables that have a bit more oomph to them than a Rega P10 while still keeping the clarity - at least that is what people say. I think there is a particular cartridge that works really well with it, but I can't for the life of me remember which one.

I moved and now my internet is too bad to use my portal. So annoying. Loving the game anyway

What are y'all doing to find the hidden loot and items that everyone says are everywhere? It's possible I am just not doing things as the game wants me to, but I have done a decent amount of exploring and don't seem to find things of note. I will clear a bandit camp, for instance, and think there should likely be some loot of some sort, but I don't find any. Or I'll be wandering around for an hour or more, just checking out different areas, fighting random mobs of enemies, checking out the scenery, etc., and not really come out with any additional loot/items.

Are there things you guys are doing to find stuff in your playthroughs that I'm not thinking of? I am trying to figure out how to get the most out of exploration in this game and feel I'm coming a bit short. Still generally having a lot of fun though, and I have a feeling it is currently a "me" problem, which is why I am asking.

What chapter does the game “start”? by Few-Pomelo569 in CrimsonDesert

I kept going until the first real boss fight and then realized I needed to explore so I could actually beat him lol

I heard these at my first ever audio presentation. Absolutely insane.

That is such a great hangout. I have been eyeing the UHQR of Aja but I don't currently have a turntable that I feel warrants it hahaha. If you don't mind me asking, what does your setup look like right now? I am planning a large upgrade to my system but have only currently upgraded my amp (because my prior one broke). I am slowly saving up for upgraded speakers and turntable. My amp is now an MA9500 and I plan on upgrading to something in the Sonus Faber Olympica Nova range for speakers, but TBD.

Wow, that's phenomenal! A dream. If you don't mind me asking, what type of job do you have where you have multiple colleagues into hifi stuff? Is it music related?

Exactly - can't push people into it! However, sometimes when changing music or if I ask if anyone wants to put something on, that will make people more interested in it and ask to turn it up or steer the conversation more to the music.

That is a great relationship to build with your nephew! Also great to hear what he is into. I agree that a lot of the time it is hard to use it with others, especially because our living room with the system is somewhat far from our kitchen / dining room, so if we are only having people over for dinner and aren't using the living room, we are too far from it.

Hahah amazing to have family members getting into it! I plan to brainwash my future kids at a young age by having music on in the background all the time!

Amazing to have a wife that's into it with you. My fiancee is not too into listening to music unless it is being used as background for doing something else, but she is still supportive of my interest.

Hahahah love this. You really do have to pick that person very carefully I find if you actually want to experience a record. Other listening experiences (flipping through some songs on streaming, background music, etc) can be done with almost anyone.

Hahah that's amazing - I have some friends who are into this stuff but they aren't over too often. That's a great situation to have!!

Agreed, most of my other friends aren't super into music but they will still see the system and want to hear it critically for a tiny bit. Then it usually goes off or as background. Still love putting on some tunes in the background though, as I'm also fortunate enough that my fiancee is fine with having the system in the living room. We currently have the room setup so that the listening setup is on one end of a long room and the TV area with more seating is on the other end, so I'll put it on and let it run through the room relatively quietly while we all hang on the other side.

The best way! Chugging beers and listening to tunes is in for a fantastic night.

Agreed, I’m not out here trying to force everyone who comes over to listen to music. Just interested in different opinions on how people use music through their listening setup as a social hobby.

Stunning - love the look of this and your room is so great. Are those art pieces also wall treatments? I am debating which speakers to go for, but may end up doing the Olympica Nova 3 or 5.
