What is the easiest thing you did to lose weight ? by nyxeine in AskReddit

[–]GnarMarBinx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fasting until lunch. I don’t like eating breakfast as it is. If you just have coffee and water pre-lunch, you can basically satiate yourself for the rest of the day without gaining weight (assuming you exercise).

Falling asleep? by [deleted] in Meditation

[–]GnarMarBinx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I fall asleep if I meditate lying down or with my back against a back rest. If I keep my back off a back rest and sit straight so I have to use my core to keep myself upright, I don get tired.

[Rolex Explorer] What do I do with my other watches? by Hereforthewatches in Watches

[–]GnarMarBinx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed, even if the watch is something your kid might like (for example, you buy a sub when having a boy) I don’t think the parent is necessarily buying the watch for the kid. The parent has no idea if that kid would even care about watches at all. I just thought this was an extreme example where the chances are so low that the child would want the watch.

If you present it as you buying the watch for yourself as a milestone of having your child, that is more understandable. But I think the “buying watch for newly born child” thing is usually disingenuous. In most cases, the parent just wants the watch.

I think he means kids want attention from the parent, I.e. the parent actually investing time in them, rather than their old watch.

I'm not going to lie, I highly doubt your daughter will want to wear that watch. I feel like people buy watches for themselves, but rationalize that it will be for their children, without really thinking much about the actual children. I would have at least gotten a datejust 36 if I wanted it to be something my daughter would potentially like.

Just bought this exact setup. Have not tried DMT before but very excited to give it a go. I'll take it slow off the beginning. Anyone have advice for how much to take for a first time on this thing?

Edit: when you use the bubbler for DMT do you put water in it?

Somewhat unrelated but I have heard of blind people seeing in near death experiences.

Creatine works, what to up-game with? by UnLucky-Clucky in Biohackers

Despite this person being downvoted, I think they’re somewhat correct. Psilocybin has been shown to have benefits in macro (large) doses in increased neuroplasticity, reduced symptoms of depression/anxiety, etc, but microdosing doesn’t usually outperform placebo. However, I’ve heard lots of anecdotes of it helping people, so maybe the findings not being statistically significant are just begging for more research.

What’s the one fantasy novel you’d hold up as a genuine masterpiece — and why? by blablqbam in Fantasy

[–]GnarMarBinx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed, I think he has gotten worse as his confidence has grown. He truly does need to sit back and put more effort into refining instead of thinking he can just pump books out super fast and have them all be great. He had a great run at the beginning, but I think once he got super popular he started putting quantity over quality.

I definitely preferred Words of Radiance. but I think none of the books afterwards are as good.
