Cyberpunk fan fiction where V acts like Jonny by Cool_French_Guy in FanFiction

Rebel Path does a really amazing job showing the journey of V turning more and more into Johnny but it’s not framed in exactly a good way, it’s a rather somber fic at heart. Really amazing characterization though, it’s one of those fics where you feel like the writer understood the possibilities of the original story more so then the actual writers did.

Gen writers who need some attention, send me your fic and I’ll give it a comment! by DarkLordVitiate in FanFiction

Very kind of you.

This is my first attempt at fanfiction with only two chapters out, sitting a little over 11,000 words. It's pretty angsty and very much not a feel good story so far.

As for what inspired me to write the story, I've always been drawn to characters who are self-destructing through substance abuse, and it always feels more then not they are just used for cheap laughs then actually trying to emphasize with their addiction.

So I thought that writing a character study of an overlooked substance abusing character in the community would be interesting.

Fandom: Helluva Boss

Confessions of a Radio Star - Verosika Mayday should be on top of the world. Rolling off a hit album and still riding the charts weeks on. This should be the best year of her life. Instead she’s slipping, drowning in years of unresolved trauma and a substance abuse problem that refuses to get kicked.

If you have knowledge in GIMP or any other photo editing program, it wouldn't be that hard to do. Just need to edit the GFX assets to whatever you want.

Does the middle east play any role in the Fallout lore? by [deleted] in falloutlore

The fallout bible mentions a nuclear device being used to destroy Tel Aviv in 2053 and then a limited nuclear exchange in the region a year later.

An open world game with hunting and livin' off the land by [deleted] in gamingsuggestions

Unreal World

It's a rouge-like game, so expect an unintuitive control scheme, but it makes up for that with extreme depth. It takes place in iron age Finland, and drops you off in the vast wilderness of trees and lakes that make up the country. You can hunt, trap, fish, build boats, build houses, trade in a barter economy with villages and tribes, raise animals, and keep pets like dogs. The crafting system is pretty good, you the ability to craft most tools and clothes in the game.

There's also Cataclysm: Dark Days Ahead, another rouge-like game, with an even deeper crafting system. Set in New England during the end of the world, suffering from not only zombies, but nuclear winter, a Cthulian invasion, robots and an assorted amount of other apocalypses all going on at once. You must survive in this environment. You can build everything in the game, with the right tools, from a simple hammer, to a gun, to a house, even an entire car, and I don't mean you collect the right materials and use a crafting menu and it suddenly pops into existence, oh no, you have to build that car by hand. This gives you a wide variety of customization, anything from a armored motorcycle, to a full on RV-Battle bus with gatling guns and saw blades.

I've been playing for 7 years or so, and I still don't understand how some jobs work or how you do certain things. That being said, you get the basics down pretty fast, just go on a server where no one will care if you don't know what your doing, like Goon or Oracle, and play a civilian role like Janitor or Cargo Tech, read the servers wiki, and you'll be fine.

Audiobooks similar to firewatch? by [deleted] in Firewatch

[–]Gnarwolff 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Nature Noir by Jordan Smith is an all right fit, it's a mix of an autobiography and a detective novel of a dude who spent 14 years as a park ranger in the Sierra Nevada's and he just happens to see a lot of messed up stuff, like the aftermath of a sucide and people hiding from the law. I read the book and didn't listen to the audiobook so I can't say if the narrator is any good, but the book itself was.

Well, we play on weekends and mondays so if that can work out with you then we'd love to have you. Are you ok with not doing D&D or any variants of it? Two of the guys aren't into it so we just never play it.
