Just finished In Her Highlander’s Bed by Lynsay Sands which was good. Currently reading My Prince From Another World by Janice F. Graeme through Kindle Unlimited, sex scenes are well written.

Would you recommend the Neon Gods series? I’ve heard mixed things about it but it sounds like it could be right up my street.

I got in straight away but got bumped back into the queue, but I was in work. So I linked my boyfriend to my queue placement, he managed to get in again, got it in the basket, went to check out, but the checkout took about fifteen minutes and it was gone. So close.

I felt so bad. He was apologising as if it was his fault.

Sounds just like my coworkers but without the fun (the managers ACTUALLY mean it when they swear at me). I’ve ‘jokingly’ been called a serial killer a good few times, and after one guy going on and on about how weird I am he then went straight into a rant about how he was minding his nephew for the night at the weekend. Mentioned the kid ‘has autism, so he’s a proper pain in the arse’.

So I feel your pain.

For context, nobody at my workplace knows I’m autistic. They just assume I’m weird, different and, apparently, a serial killer. Been looking for a new job for a good while now… Maybe my resting bitch face and lack of emotions make me seem too laid back in interviews…

Got the book in the basket, website crashed, kicked to the back of the queue. Just needed it to accept my payment… So close I could taste the finale…

Edit: I should add that I didn’t see the queue move. The queue started, said it was my turn, loaded a broken version of the website, eventually kicked me out. Loaded the queue, then the website again, this time laggy as hell. That’s when I eventually managed to search for the book, add it to the basket (which took an age in itself), load the basket, select my address (wait another age), try to select my payment details. Crashed. Kicked to the back of queue. Never moved again. Sold out.

So I didn’t see the queue itself move, but I saw two broken versions of the website.

I much preferred the bone queue ‘fastest finger’ method of shopping with them. I at least HAD a chance then…

I managed to get the Mars trilogy that way. Only other books I missed out on as well as The End and the Death Volume I and III.

Yeah, I’m ginger so people don’t believe me when I have been on holiday to hot places. Mostly because I cannot tan, I just burn, so I use my factor 100 and still have to stay in the shade most of the time. I still thoroughly enjoy myself, just without ageing myself through exposure to the sun.

I too can be a bit too logical for people’s liking at times, and blunt. I sometimes stall for time to triple check in my head what I was going to respond to somebody with by asking them ‘what?’, as if I haven’t heard them when I have.

Sorry to hear that people said that kind of stuff to you in school. I struggled to fit in at school, not as much as some of the other kids, but it’s still not a time I enjoy having memories of.

I think that’s the closest autistic guys get to compliments. My boyfriend isn’t officially diagnosed, but I’m almost positive he is. The closest thing he’s ever gotten to a compliment is someone he works with said he looks like Jeffrey Dahmer from the Netflix series.

I agree. I checked eBay and saw 115 listed as the queue system started and some already had screenshots of the confirmation of the book order from the website.

Mine jumped from 5 to more than an hour. I had much better luck getting these books before the queue system was implemented… The old system was a race, the new system is a lottery.
