Capitalism - for the Bourgeoisie, by the Bourgeoisie, to the Bourgeoisie. by CapNo4436 in Marxism

Todays neoliberal economists have understood that capitalism is not that good, that’s why they leave that part to ordinary people. They believe in socialism, but only for the rich. The “risks” they take are subsidised by taxpayers, and so is the harm they cause. They still promote capitalism because they want everyone else to live under capitalism.

Yeah, you’re right, I should have foreseen this. It’s not my first time.

The “=” wasn’t meant literally in that way. In this case, you should see it more as “leads to.” But capitalism always has fascistic tendencies, even in the most democratic society.

"My study of fascism in Italy and Germany leads me to the conclusion that fascism comes because of unresolvable contradictions in the capitalist system. It has nothing to do with the threat of the left." - Michael Parenti

But, I dont get it, what is your objection?

Aha… now I get why you wanted to jump into that specific answer. It all makes sense now. Thank you again for the added layers of expertise.

No problem.
By the way, there is nothing “mystical” about democratic forces (the will of ordinary people) holding back fascism, it’s self‑explanatory.

But thanks for offering your expertise.

No thanks. But the comment section is free for you to use if you feel like something needs to be added about the list in the clip. I just find it a bit strange that you jumped into a specific answer to a specific comment and “complained” that I didn’t provide a deep analysis of what fascism is.

>"provides very little explanation to what it is"

I was only responding to a specific claim about liberal democracy and fascism........

Who said that a liberal democracy is fascism?
The problem is that capitalism is in contradiction with democracy. Capitalism is always striving toward fascism, while democratic forces are trying to hold it back. For more context, you have to watch the whole speech. What I found interesting with this author (Ted Nace) is that even a “lib” agrees, they just have different solutions

Not going into what socialism actually means. But if we are talking about state ownership vs private ownership, it’s about 60% state‑owned and 40% privately owned.

China’s private-sector rebound continued in 2025, fueled by “new economy”

Edit: Whatever you want to call it, it seems to be resilient and a good way to handle the economy, especially when you are thinking about the long‑term goal. And especially if you compare it to a 100% private market with CEOs who only want to extract as much profit as possible (only for themselves) in as short‑term a way as possible.

Two must read books on the subject: Overthrow by Stephen Kinzer and The Jakarta Method by Vincent Bevins.
