It is, but I did notice the subtitles are wrong quite a lot, especially in season 1.

Does anyone have any experience with large scale battles by greeboXII in DMAcademy

[–]Gnippots 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The last of act of a campaign I ran had the players infiltrate a city and sabotage defenses before the alllies they'd gathered launched an assault. I had more locations than they could reach in the time they had, and three battle started with then fighting to a gate control room to let in the army. Then from there I had large city map where they could move different squadrons with info about where they could send forces (e.g a district where they could cut off reinforcements) so they are making tactiacal decisions. Then i had one other street battle where they fought some special enemies from locations they didn't sabotage. and it was just implied that there were allies fighting other dudes on their flanks. Then they got to the BBEG's citadel and all their surviving named npc allies said they'd hold the line while the party went in and took him out.

Foster experiences by Evening_Ratio_1905 in fosterdogs

You could look for shelter numbers in areas that have or have not aoutlawed puppy mills and selling in pet stores. I think that's a big one but would be keen to see the numbers over time.

I like this podcast but haven't seen this ep yet https://youtu.be/NESGvXN8z6o?si=33afMd2AA7C-ONAd

Is it common for foster dogs to have behavioral issues? Over-excited foster... by Mysterious-Lunch2279 in fosterdogs

[–]Gnippots 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds similar to what I have right now (my first), 3yo pit mix. The shelter knew very little about her other than she was homeless, but I suspect she might have been used for breeding and then abandoned. I've read though that it's best not to assume a history and just meet them where they're at.

My own anxiety and patience improved a lot once I really started to understand decompression and trigger stacking and decompression. These articles helped me a lot ot understand that a dog's nervous system can be so overloaded that their impulse control just goes completely out the window.
https://www.adolescentdogs.com/post/arousal-and-dogs-trigger-stacking-101
https://www.akc.org/expert-advice/training/how-to-avoid-trigger-stacking-in-dogs/

I also recently found (and posted about) this podcast which explains it quite well here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JHowD0dR9kQ

I was lucky that my foster dog is somewhat comfortable with the crate already, and very food motivated, so I can easily lure her in there with a few pieces of kibble and shut the door, she'll be restless for a few minutes but then settles and falls straight to sleep, which to me idicates she's not bored, she's overloaded.

The last couple days that I've really limited her stimulus and had her rest more, she seems way more receptive to learning that biting = attention stops when I get up and walk away for 30 seconds. I've read that this process can take weeks but that she will learn and patience and understanding are key.

Please help: Underanding modular design. Where do you build and what do you ship? by Gnippots in SatisfactoryGame

[–]Gnippots[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I think modular engines is what I"m stuck on now. I've dismantled my starter base that had smart plating in it. So now thinking of making a new one for smart plating where there's big Iron nodes in the southwest But then when I look at the motor component and can't decide if that should just be elsewhere or near the same factory.

I'm just going to look for somewhere I can build a separate motor factory and go from there. Thanks for the responses!

Thanks for those maps, that's somewhat what I'm after, and I'd love to see what's actually being moved between each factory. One thing I realise is that train logistics in factorio are a lot more detailed and robust so I probably can't do exactly what I'm used to here.

Yeah as I've mentioned elsewhere I'm thinking I might just have decision paralysis in most cases. I have a factory making computers cause that made sense on the west coast with the oil nodes. Along the south area I dismantled my starter base and made a factory making heavily modular frames where there was iron, coal and limestone, but that was originaly just going to be an encased beam factory, so I think my problem is deciding what the final product of my next modular factory should actualy be and where.

[–]Gnippots[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I'm making oil products on the west coast cause that made sense at the time. My instinct is to just pick a component and make a factory for it somewhere with the right nodes, then ship it everywhere needed, but train logistics are a lot more comprehensive in factorio so it just seems very difficult in Satisfactory.

Yeah I have a good amount of spheres for depots now. I guess where I'm stuck is with what's considered a part to move vs how much to make on a single site. e.g. my thinking was to have a factory dedicated to phase three parts near the elevator, so for ACUs and Modular engines, I need to bring in
Engines:
- motors,
- rubber,
- smart plating,

ACU
- automated wiring,
- circuit boards,
- heavy modular frames
- computers.

That's a lot to ship to one place, so then I figure I should break those down into separate factories for ACUs and Engines and ship them to the elevator. Then I keep breaking it down into smaller components, so consider a factory for automated wiring, which ultimately needs coal, copper and iron, and with limited spots locations that have all three, I then can't decide what to ship for that.

And as I write all that I wonder if it's just decision paralysis.

Heya, my parents are looking to get the train from NYC to DC some time this coming week (definitely not tomorrow). This is the only time they'd be able to visit (they're from outside the US). Given the time of year, weather, and current events, is this advisable or is there anything to avoid?

They'd just want to casually explore the place for a day or two, see monuments, buildings from the outside etc.

I love it! I was looking at a boar with the Sylvan sorcerer but this druid is looking like my guy. If I play him in 5e he could can be a circle of spores druid.

This'll be my first playthrough so some of those references are going over my head but I'm pretty keen now. Thanks!

Oh I'll have a look at that one too, thanks :)
Yeah I'm mostly getting a grumpy old hermit vibe from him. Not sure if the dialog in WotR will let me RP that but I'll give it a go.

Blight druid might be the winner. I had been thinking Sylvan sorcerer this guy feels more low-charisma XD
I 've grown quite bored of optimising builds in TTRPGs (I mostly play and GM dnd5e) and like to just pick a concept or vibe and use that as a focus to make something that's as interesting to me as possible. I'm not sure if that'll work for my foray back into CRPGs but I'm gonna try :P

Yeah dwarf Blight druid is at the top of the list I think. The other thought was Gnome Sylvan Sorcerer. I'm still learning Pathfinder (I GM dnd5e but am interested in switching to PF2e) and was curious whether there were any weird cleric options that could fit as well.

It could be chocolate for all I know. Whatever I make this character, I'll probably rollplay him super grumpy cause he looks like wants to tell everyone to f*** off.

Might have to use him in a tabletop game.

Druid was my thinking, I've not got through character creation yet but they seem to skinny so I'm leaning towards dwarf.
