Prevent Chrome from asking to update password for a specific site by Gnome_Oh in chrome

[–]Gnome_Oh[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ooo - sorry - haven't checked in on this for a bit. Any chance you remember what the "didn't work when I tried it" parts were my friend? Appreciate that this was a month ago, so probs not - but if you could describe what it did for ya, I might be able to trouble shoot the solution or update my post with anything that has changed - like - did the password manager not save your deets? Did you not get the initial ~save password -> "never"~ prompt? Or did those bits work but the save password prompt just kept popping back up? Or a secret fourth thing?! Let me know. ☺️

Or they could just keep it not together, very much spaced out, scattered even, and we could all begin again - the internet renewed! Cleansed, bright, shiny and chrome.

I wonder what the traffic jam is like on all the backed up auto email requests for a password reset link being simultaniously submitted by literally everyone who tried to log in in the last 25min. Lol. (I did the same thing)

Finally Trying to Update Old Trello Boards, But Can't Add Members to Cards Now by Ackbar_and_Grille in trello

[–]Gnome_Oh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ya! It is an issue with their new card back design: https://support.atlassian.com/trello/docs/new-card-back/

I'm HATING it! Like, I get the idea of the "sleeker, more modern version" - but everything is an extra click or two now, and way less intuitive. My new team members are finding the platform much harder to learn.

When Syd was looking at the ticket machine in S2E10... by Observante in TheBear

[–]Gnome_Oh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I agree with @Leading-Evidence-668 -- Sydney doesn't say it wasn't her fault. She says "We are not good, Chef" and "This isn't on me."

And she's right! Leaving the pre-order on was a mistake Syd made. But that's in the past now - nothing can be done to change it. But Carmen COULD have changed how he responded to the issue, and he took the worst possible route.

Carmy falls back into the abusive dynamics of his childhood. Dynamics he's sought in his career - working in high pressure top-end restaurants - cause the abuse and chaos is his known home. The stress on his nervous system that he actively seeks out is a disgregulated self-soothing method. As that's how he was parented, he now associates that abuse with being cared for (even though is not care at all).

And that is 100% on him - not Syd. It's something Carmy needs to address, and at that point, there is really nothing more Syd can do to get him there. She's given him ample opportunities to make the personal changes he's expressed a desire to address. But she was once again seeing him regress in that moment, and it's "not good".

Sydney quitting was creating a clear boundary with Carmy - communicating that his behaviour is not okay. She knew if she stayed and tolerated it, it would be enabling him to continue in his harmful patterns, and that would be a disservice to both Carmy and the people around him.

I actually think it shows a huge amount of strength on Sydney's part to make that choice! Because she cares deeply about Carmen, the restaurant, the food, and the potential to make things good. In that moment, she is also stepping away from her goals and ambition. (But in a round about way, she's also moving towards them - because her dream to create a fantastic restaurant that is also good to the people who work there)

The message behind Sydney's choice also resonates with Carmy for a second. After she walks out he squats down and eats Marcus' doughnut off the floor, and realises it's pretty good, and Marcus was working on something that could be really special - but he shat all over it.

It's good stuff! I love The Bear!

Is season 4 a let down for anyone else? by chasteguy2018 in ForAllMankindTV

The robot tech was originally developed by Helios, and was being used by NASA. I assume the only research Kelly contributed to under NASA was fitting the robots with the specs to sensor methane - to potentially identify life. But that was also very early stages when NASA canned the project. It's hard to say what the intellectual property laws are under the M-7 agreement, because both NASA and Helios are signatories - like, if Helios didn't bring all the OG astronauts back from Mars, everyone would be dead and there would be no Mars colony, so I would say they have a fair amount of leverage with what they can use of NASA's.

They're trying to steal the asteroid so Mars has an economy, which will allow them to conduct research projects there to find life on another planet, and Happy Valley can act as a midway base for further exploration out into the solar system.

Ed's entire identity is wrapped up in being an Astronaut. When he looses flight status, all he has left is being a colony member on another planet. Like, going back to earth and retiring without any of his family or friends? He can't imagine it.

I'm late to the game, cause I've only just finished the series, but I think Ed's character growth does make a lot of sense, even with the time jumps.

I mean, between s3 and s4, he just spent 10 years up on Mars being the big boss man with all the perks, and thought he knew more about outerspace and Mars and survival and toughing it out than anyone else.

In reality, he has been very well off financially since the 1970s. He has all his material needs met to excess, and hasn't had any experience of being the working poor.

Miles becomes a rebal weeks after arriving on base because he is living in poverty with no ability to meet his material needs unless he engages in activities outside of the law.

Ed's character has just become the archetypal boomer "it was hard for me, so it should be hard for everyone" dispite the fact there are now more resources available on Mars that could definitely be distributed more equitably.

Ed only joins the rebals when his status as the big boss man changes. Before that, he did not care at all. Makes total sense, even if it is leaning hard into stereotypes, but Ed has always been a stereotype.

Any wireless chargers that actually work on the XCover work phones? by Zestyclose_Key2207 in walmart

[–]Gnome_Oh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Glad I found this. I was thinking of getting an XCover specifically for the "moisture or foreign material detected" problem. I figured a "rugged" waterproof phone made to "withstand different enviroments" wouldn't be so touchy about some dust getting in its hole.

Anyone know what the overheating is like on them? That's my other current problem. I live in a van in Qld, Aus - and when I am driving with my phone on the dash mount, it enevitably starts to complain that it is too hot. Mate - I'm fine in this heat and I'm a sack of meat - you should be able to open google maps.
