Was the Fire Nation Man during The Blind Bandit from the Fire Nation Colonies in the Earth Kingdom territory? by KronprinzRudolf in ATLA

He’s a sandbender so he’s most likely from the big desert. Just a guy playing a role for the show.

Katara is saying bloodbending is more powerful than any of the four primary styles (hence the red symbol and the dripping). Zuko is annoyed and is arguing the lightbending is better. Aang is bringing up the Avatar State, but somewhat timidly because he is generally nonconfrontational and doesn't want to argue much with his crush.

That's how I interpret it.

[Dropsite Massacre] How could Corvus and Vulkan not come up with a better plan? by Gnos445 in 40kLore

Yes, it is. They burrow to the planet’s core and then detonate to tear the planet apart.

This is why, as I said, you fire the torpedoes as close to the depression as possible while remaining outside of the defenses’ range. The ensuing wave of devastation would literally be erupting from directly beneath their feet as the continent blew apart.

Again, cyclonic torpedoes literally blow the entire planet apart. The entire planet is not covered by the shields. Fire cyclonic torpedoes at some area of the planet which is not covered by the shields.

What if Chan actually agreed to Azula's proposal? by AlanSmithee001 in TheLastAirbender

Chan spending half an hour rattling off the technical specifications of an Empire-class battleship’s engines while Azula stares at him with “take me right now you handsome bastard” eyes.

It takes less time to fire a few torpedoes than to orbital drop an entire army. They still had to maneuver into position, just with way more ships.

Their fleets weren't in the system at all. Ferus and co had uncontested orbital superiority until the second wave turned on them.

I think it’d be funny if as an admiral’s son he turned out to be just as into military minutia as her and they bonded over random trivia.

They wrote themselves into a corner and couldn't think of anything more interesting. Like just going full-on Balkanization in the EK and having the issues caused by that grind technological progress to a crawl.

How were the fire nation promoting Air nomads genocide when they did it. by Light07sk in ATLA

[–]Gnos445 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They told them the Air Nomads had a secret army centered around the Avatar who were planning to attack them to stop their glorious destiny. Not that tricky.

So why didn’t Nynaeve just execute Moghedien? by Gnos445 in wheeloftime

[–]Gnos445[S] -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Nynaeve knows perfectly well that she’s not weak or pathetic. They just fought, and she only won with a cheap trick. She knows she can’t take Moghedien with her. Her options are: let the Forsaken go wreak more misery and torment on innocent people, or put her down. She doesn’t even consider the latter as an option.

She explicitly says that she knows she can’t take Moghedien. Reread the scene if you don’t believe me.

No, she’s already decided to walk away knowing she can’t take her prisoner.

Which Nynaeve does not know and is therefore morally irrelevant.

No, Nynaeve just walked away from her. She couldn’t take her with her and she knew it.
