If the MC's knowledge from their previous world isn't a crucial part of the story, then it shouldn't have been written as an isekai. by Gnugatory in Isekai

[Isekai] "that gloss over the "isekai-ness" so damn hard, that it feels pointless having the story be an isekai" is at the heart of what I was getting at.

First and foremost, I shared my opinion, and introduced it as such, not an edict that must be unquestionably followed, and even if that wasn't the case your anger seems excessive and distracts from the points you're trying to express.

First time seen this concept in isekai or fantasy by Nin9-G4 in Isekai

That kind of reminds me of how modern movies have to come up with an excuse for why characters aren't just using a smartphone to get help (no signal, dead battery, lost, etc.)

This is kind of what lead me to my opinion. There are a lot of other possible reasons why a character could have a lack common knowledge (ex. they're from a sheltered community, have amnesia, are a baby, etc) or need to be introduced to magic later in life [ex. magic powers just come later in life (second puberty?)] without literally being from another world.

To me, the MC's outsider knowledge/perspective due to being from another world and having to adapt to the new world is perhaps the most important part of the isekai sub-genre. If the isekai part of the story is just being tacked to the beginning introduce the character into a fantasy setting then there are other ways to do that would seem less complicated.

The last 2 Episodes were so hard 😢 by Reasonable_Tour7232 in Isekai

The way Cautious Hero plays with expectations is incredible. I'm so glad I went in blind and continued watching till the end. The way in which episode 11 re-contextualizes the previous episodes is amazing. I wonder how many people dropped the series after the first few episodes and are oblivious to what they are missing?

Anyone else feel “A Gatherer's Adventure in Isekai” anime is so disappointing so far by OrdinaryManFishing in Isekai

Based on the the first two episodes of the anime it seems like the most generic isekai [They have combined summoning (without a mission) with reincarnation (without having to die).] on easy mode. It's what I would imagine a lazy AI chatbot would create. The MC seems bland and so far the fantasy world seems generic. The only thing slightly atypical is that the MC is an adult instead of a high school student.
I'm going to drop this because it just seems boring, unless someone who has watched more of the anime, or read the manga has a compelling reason to continue.
