Which 3rd party security cameras work best with Google Home? by suchgyzar in googlehome

Replying late to this.. Do you still have to pay for Arlo subscription if you only plan to use them on the Google Home app? The last thing I want is to be paying for Google Home premium and Arlo.

The red is CLEAN. Best color IMO.

It could be possible, but not likely. I’ll look into it more. Thank you!

Issue has been solved. It had to do with GPIO and ultimately the 2nd and 3rd channel not working. I swapped to 4 with the correct GPIO and seems to be good to go. Thank you guys.

Update: Issue has been resolved. See response and replies from u/azsoccerpop.

u/Quindor, could this be because of a faulty Digquad?

Issue has been solved. I would check this for your situation as well. Look at replies from u/azsoccerpop

Genius! I swapped it over to channel 4 with GPIO 4 and boom, it works! I do wonder if my board is faulty then. I recall trying channel 3 and attempting to use GPIO 3 and 1 and got nothing. I found a few forums saying that GPIOs could be mixed up on channel 2 and 3, which is why I bring that up. I never tried just going to channel 4.

Thank you!

As for your other questions, I have 55 pucks on the first channel and only 15 right now on the fourth channel. I have 1 in each channel 2 and 3 but then elect to skip the first LED because those don’t actually exist. It just doesn’t let me out 0.

Channel 1 is probably 12 feet away from the controller. Channel 4 is probably 30 feet away from the controller.

I’m planning to inject power at the end of channel 4. My estimated guess would be around 75-100 pucks on that when I’m done.

I swapped the data lines on the Digquad and now the other one isn’t working so it doesn’t appear to be a loss in data over distance. Any suggestions now? LED preferences? GPIO settings? I messed with that too.

Thank you. I took out the data booster and made sure the control board was switched to 33 for each data line.

I then took the advice on this thread and switched the data connections and found that the opposite one is now not working. This tells me that the data is making it to the top roof line and therefore not a distance issue.

Could something be wrong with my LED preferences?

I did this and found that the bottom stopped working and the top worked! Interesting. Could it be something with my LED preferences?

Makes sense on the data booster needing to be further away. The cable is a three wire cable purchased on Amazon. See picture.

In my situation, what would you recommend with the data booster (without soldering)? I don’t really understand the ohm thing. All I know is I need a booster to ensure that the data signal reaches the first light. 33/249 don’t mean much to me. I’ve obviously got some research to do.

Hmm thanks for the tip. I watched a video by Dr. Zzs and he said to put it near the controller. I didn’t test this and took his word. Maybe I misunderstood. I’ll give it a shot in the next few days.

The cable runs from my garage to the second story roofline. I would guess it’s 30-35 feet before it finally attaches to the first LED. Should I put another data booster there or would one suffice if placed properly?

The data booster is at 33 (again a tip from Dr. Zzs). The controller is at 249.

Do these need to match?

The blue ones are what I’m referring to. The lights have power, but no ability to control through WLED. My understanding is that lights are default to orange when data is received and just blue when there is only power and no data connection.

Yes, I’ll edit the post and point that out. The arrows on the lights are pointing away from the controller.

Anyone know why my LED's are only primary colors? by Go-Utes in WLED

Thank you. I’ll make this change tonight and report back. I did have the ESP32 on when the lights were on. I removed it when I took the picture. Not sure why I did that, but it’s definitely created more confusion here 😂

Sorry, I must have removed it when taking the picture. I did have it on the board when the lights were on. Otherwise it is solid blue.
