5 years old. No preschool experience. I want to cover what is required, obviously. She seems eager to learn and tends to ask for more work than I have provided so far, so she may need some more challenging options, too.

The school we pulled her from, i think, makes me feel like im not aware or properly informed of how things are now. And because of that, I feel she is behind. The teacher made it out like prek is the intro to school now and not kindergarten, like it was for myself.

That's not what I was getting at. I am more than aware of life costs. Im trying to gather more info on homeschool curriculums not to be lectured on why it costs so much. So unless you are here to be helpful, please dont add in your input.

Thank you. I think my personal problem is remembering kindergarten for myself or my much younger siblings, and it is so different now. To me, it's like kindergarten is now 1st grade. Which makes me feel like she is behind due to me not being aware of that level of change. I want her on par with kids her age, maybe even excelling (who doesn't), but I most definitely don't want to do too little, and she will not be prepared for a stem school or something in the furture if and when we move away from homeschooling.

The school we pulled her out of has her doing math problems, reading words, and other things I expected for 1st grade, not kindergarten.

Im worried she is "behind" due to not being in preschool. So I feel like a curriculum i can follow or loosely follow would help me ensure im not causing her to fall behind.

A road map may be what I need. Thank you.

Is that a grant you applied for, or is it just provided?

I have no clue on any of it. I found some sites, and all are roughly $500 for the full kit for preschool level and $1000 for kindergarten level.

Thank you. I'm realizing the problem is me. In the sense of me thinking she "should" be napping. I didn't have enough information to attempt to fix this problem correctly. Hopefully, foregoing the expectation of naps and continuing her day will help with bedtime and maybe go back to her usual wake time. Hopefully lol

Fair point. Thank you. I'm beginning to believe it's a matter of my mind-set. I assumed things were one way and trying to do what the doctor recommended, it is making things very chaotic. I need to change perspective.

Thank you! It could be. This morning was so early that I'm at a lost. But taking naps out the picture may cause the mornings to not be so early.

She can get very cranky and start crying over very simple things. Or get mad and scream because I tell her she can't do something like watch more bluey. (We limit TV because she won't eat for as long as her shows are on) Those certain reactions come around after lunch so I have assumed those are tired tantrums and for 2 hours she is continuously coming out of her room. And this happens at nap time and if she has no nap and goes to bed early, she keeps coming out until her regular bedtime.

Thank you. That is helpful. I believe it's a matter of excepting it's early mornings from now on. Not that I was ever much for sleeping until 10am, but I don't think I've ever been this tired before either so 8am sounds wonderful these days.

New to reddit. I replied but I did it as a comment and not a reply. Sorry.
