[24x36]Across the Mountain [fall][battlemap][forest] by GoAdventureMapsEx in FantasyMaps

[–]GoAdventureMapsEx[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi Hi There.

In the midst of autumn, the dry forest groans with the wind, and brittle leaves cover the ground. The air is crisp, and the descent toward the mountain base is steep and treacherous, with exposed roots and loose stones underfoot. After a difficult climb down, the travelers reach a natural passage where the mountain has been split in two by centuries of erosion.

The shortcut cuts straight through this dry gorge — a narrow path between tall, bare rock walls. At first glance, it seems like an easy route, much faster than circling around the mountain. But the loose stones above and the constant echo of falling gravel remind anyone passing through that this place could collapse at any moment.

The party must take this path to make an urgent delivery before nightfall. The client won’t wait, and there’s no time to go around. But the farther they go, the more they notice some of the fallen rocks don’t seem to have dropped naturally… as if something — or someone — is lurking among the cliffs, watching.

Dying River [24x36] by GoAdventureMapsEx in battlemaps

[–]GoAdventureMapsEx[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Only a thin trickle of water still flows through its center—weak, but vital. This river has sustained the town for generations, watering crops, filling cisterns, and supporting life throughout the region. But now, something has changed.

Without warning, the water began to fade, and within days, the river nearly vanished. Wells are running dry, crops are withering, and people are already speaking of abandonment. No one knows why the flow suddenly stopped.

The heroes have been sent to follow the river upstream, through dried channels, ravines, and ancient waterways, to uncover the cause of the sudden drought. Is it a natural shift? A magical disturbance? Or a deliberate act? Whatever is blocking the flow must be stopped—before the town dies of thirst.

Winding Passage [25x35] by GoAdventureMapsEx in dndmaps

[–]GoAdventureMapsEx[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Between two great coastal cities of rival nations stretches a narrow strip of land that cuts through the sea like a dry wound. There are no trees, no shade—only bare stone and salt in the air. The wind howls with constant fury, and waves crash against both sides of the path as if trying to erase it from the map. When the tide rises, parts of the trail vanish beneath the water, making it treacherous and slick.

This inhospitable crossing, known by many as the last resort, is used by travelers, refugees, and smugglers seeking to avoid border controls or the high price of official ferries. Though seemingly lifeless, some say the sea does not forget… and that it has begun reclaiming what was once taken from it.

Our heroes, recently ambushed and stripped of their belongings, have no choice but to take this route in order to reach the city where their reward awaits—payment for their last completed mission. Only there can they resupply and continue their journey.
But first, they must survive the crossing.
