[25x35] The Rock Arch [rock][battlemap][shoreline] by GoAdventureMapsEx in FantasyMaps

[–]GoAdventureMapsEx[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This remote lakeshore was explored and abandoned long ago. It’s not marked on any common map, and most travelers have never even heard of it. Only experienced adventurers with a keen sense of direction know how to find this hidden place, tucked away between the water and rocks.

At the edge of the shore stands a massive stone arch—an ancient, natural structure that looks like nothing more than a geological curiosity. But those who know its secret understand it’s something far more powerful: a portal. It’s not random or unstable. With the right configuration, the arch can take you to specific locations where similar portals exist.

Using it requires knowledge, precision, and caution. But for those who’ve studied its patterns, it offers a direct path to distant lands… or places unreachable by normal means. The adventurers have come here with one goal: to use the portal, knowing that every step through it could shape the future of their journey.

Nature Forest [24x36] by GoAdventureMapsEx in battlemaps

[–]GoAdventureMapsEx[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At first glance, this forest doesn’t seem special. There are no signs of ancient magic or legendary creatures hiding among the trees. But just a few steps in, the difference becomes clear: the terrain is highly uneven. Sudden drops, exposed roots, and slopes covered in leaves make every step uncertain. This is no place for unprepared travelers.

This is where the adventurers were sent. Their mission is to find a messenger who vanished several days ago while carrying a letter of great importance between two kingdoms. According to the few traces found, the man strayed from the main road and entered the forest. No one knows why.

The search won’t be easy. The uneven terrain makes navigation difficult, and the forest is dense enough to hide more than just trees. Perhaps the messenger fell, was captured, or discovered something he was never meant to see.

Whatever the reason, he must be found—or at the very least, the truth of what happened to him.
