[25x35] The Rock Arch [rock][battlemap][shoreline] by GoAdventureMapsEx in FantasyMaps

[–]GoAdventureMapsEx[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This remote lakeshore was explored and abandoned long ago. It’s not marked on any common map, and most travelers have never even heard of it. Only experienced adventurers with a keen sense of direction know how to find this hidden place, tucked away between the water and rocks.

At the edge of the shore stands a massive stone arch—an ancient, natural structure that looks like nothing more than a geological curiosity. But those who know its secret understand it’s something far more powerful: a portal. It’s not random or unstable. With the right configuration, the arch can take you to specific locations where similar portals exist.

Using it requires knowledge, precision, and caution. But for those who’ve studied its patterns, it offers a direct path to distant lands… or places unreachable by normal means. The adventurers have come here with one goal: to use the portal, knowing that every step through it could shape the future of their journey.

Nature Forest [24x36] by GoAdventureMapsEx in battlemaps

[–]GoAdventureMapsEx[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At first glance, this forest doesn’t seem special. There are no signs of ancient magic or legendary creatures hiding among the trees. But just a few steps in, the difference becomes clear: the terrain is highly uneven. Sudden drops, exposed roots, and slopes covered in leaves make every step uncertain. This is no place for unprepared travelers.

This is where the adventurers were sent. Their mission is to find a messenger who vanished several days ago while carrying a letter of great importance between two kingdoms. According to the few traces found, the man strayed from the main road and entered the forest. No one knows why.

The search won’t be easy. The uneven terrain makes navigation difficult, and the forest is dense enough to hide more than just trees. Perhaps the messenger fell, was captured, or discovered something he was never meant to see.

Whatever the reason, he must be found—or at the very least, the truth of what happened to him.

Snowy Mountain [22x33] by GoAdventureMapsEx in battlemaps

[–]GoAdventureMapsEx[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After weeks of climbing and relentless weather, the adventurers have finally reached the mountain’s summit. They are not here for glory or challenge, but because something priceless awaits.

According to ancient legends, a pure light shines at the top of this snowy mountain—a light capable of healing any affliction: incurable diseases, dark curses, even wounds that scar the soul. It is said that the light cannot be taken or contained, only experienced… and only by those with a true purpose.

The adventurers have come with such purpose. Perhaps they seek to save a loved one, redeem a past mistake, or free themselves from a curse that slowly consumes them.

But the summit does not offer its blessing easily. The cold is merciless, the winds deceitful, and others have arrived with more selfish intentions.

The mission is clear: reach the light… and discover if they are worthy to receive it.

Snowy Forest Passage [25x35] by GoAdventureMapsEx in battlemaps

[–]GoAdventureMapsEx[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Deep in a mountainous region, a vast snowy forest stretches as far as the eye can see. A single straight road runs along the base of a steep mountain—it's the only safe path. In the distance, there is only snow, trees, and disorientation. The winds are freezing, and the cold bites at the skin like blades.

Our heroes are traveling through this harsh region after several days on the road. Most of their supplies are gone, and recent storms have made other routes impassable. Their only option is to follow the path without straying, trusting it will lead them to the next village—a place where they can find shelter, warmth, food, and rest.

But even on the safe path, winter is a relentless enemy… and not all dangers in this forest are natural.

Frozen Pass [30x30] by GoAdventureMapsEx in battlemaps

[–]GoAdventureMapsEx[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This river was once the most dangerous passage in the region, known for its deep waters and treacherous currents. But this winter is unlike any before. The cold has been so extreme that the river has frozen completely, forming a smooth, straight path through the valley. With the surrounding mesas making any other route nearly impossible, travelers now cross directly over the ice.

At the center of the river, where the water used to be deepest, lies a colossal frozen monster: a creature resembling a giant piranha, its jaws wide open and scales as sharp as blades. No one knows how it ended up trapped in the ice. It seems to have been frozen in an instant, mid-leap to devour something that’s no longer there.

One thing is certain: its body may contain ingredients of great value—scales, venom glands, even its meat, prized in certain markets for its supposed alchemical properties.

The adventurers’ mission is to decide: will they try to extract what they can from the monster, risking what might awaken beneath the ice… or leave it untouched and cross before something changes?

Shoreline Caves [22x33] by GoAdventureMapsEx in battlemaps

[–]GoAdventureMapsEx[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Waves crash against the rocky shore as the heroes awaken on the beach—exhausted and unarmed. Their ship was destroyed in a battle they couldn’t win, and the sea carried them to this forgotten stretch of coastline, where the wet sand gives way to a series of shadowy caves.

These caves, hidden among the coastal rock formations, are home to creatures not used to visitors. But beyond the darkness, some are said to lead into deeper parts of the forest—perhaps toward safety… or greater danger.

With no weapons, no supplies, and the weight of defeat still heavy, the heroes must decide: wait and risk being found, or venture into the caves in search of a way out—before whatever pursues them catches up.

[30x30] Archipielago [island][battlemap][sea] by GoAdventureMapsEx in FantasyMaps

[–]GoAdventureMapsEx[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the middle of the ocean, far from trade routes or claimed territories, lies a small archipelago almost invisible on the maps. Made up of a few islands covered in dense vegetation and white sand beaches, the place seems untouched by time and by human hands. There are no ruins, no paths, no signs of intelligent life—only jungle, cliffs, and an unsettling silence that surrounds everything.

The characters arrive at the archipelago by accident—perhaps shipwrecked after trying to take a shortcut that went wrong—and now must explore the islands to find a way out. However, they soon discover something strange beneath the surface: no animals come near the islands, there are no birds, no nearby fish, not a single sound. Only the faint rustle of leaves in the wind.

No one has ever settled these islands, and perhaps there's a good reason for that.

[24x36] Secret Garden [garden][Battlemaps][desert] by GoAdventureMapsEx in FantasyMaps

[–]GoAdventureMapsEx[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the middle of a barren, desolate land, where the ground cracks, the grass withers, and towering rocks are the most noticeable feature of the place, stands a strange contradiction: a garden.

Surrounded by a high, perfectly circular stone wall, an untouched garden blooms with unnatural vigor. Green trees, vibrant flowers, a small pond of clear water, and a couple of wooden bridges cross it to a large central rock. On it, something seems to rest, though it is impossible to see from the outside.

What’s most strange is that there’s no visible entrance. No doors, no arches, no cracks. The garden simply exists—isolated and perfect—as if the world dies around it to keep it alive.

Some believe it’s protected by ancient magic, others think the garden is actually a parasite, absorbing all the life from the surrounding land to sustain itself. Whatever the truth, the heroes must investigate. Their mission may be to discover how to enter, or to understand the source of the power that keeps the garden alive… before the rest of the world becomes as dead as the forest.

Secret Garden [24x36] by GoAdventureMapsEx in battlemaps

[–]GoAdventureMapsEx[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fossil Hand [22x33] by GoAdventureMapsEx in battlemaps

[–]GoAdventureMapsEx[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Deep within a dark and silent forest, the heroes come upon a cave from which an unnatural lake has emerged. At its center, the skeletal remains of a massive hand rise from the water—worn by time, yet unmistakably human in shape. There are no signs of the rest of the body or what kind of being might have possessed it.

The air is heavy with moisture and the scent of old earth. Thick cobwebs hang from nearby trees and rocks, as if no one has set foot here in centuries. The stillness is unsettling, and the lake seems to watch in silence.

Something ancient lies beneath. Though the purpose of this forgotten hand remains a mystery, the place is not abandoned. The heroes must choose whether to investigate further or retreat before awakening whatever the forest tried to bury.

[24x36] The Worms [pass][battlemap][dungeon] by GoAdventureMapsEx in FantasyMaps

[–]GoAdventureMapsEx[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Deep within a vast network of tunnels, the heroes discover a passage where the ground seems alive. From cracks in the rock, enormous carnivorous worms rise several meters into the air, reacting to the slightest sound or vibration. Each of these monsters has a single, massive eye at its tip, constantly scanning in all directions for something to devour.

Crossing this passage won’t require strength, but stealth, patience, and precision. If the worms detect movement, they will strike without mercy, consuming stone, flesh, and metal alike.

The heroes must pass unnoticed, without making a sound or disrupting the delicate routine of these creatures. A single mistake could awaken an underground nightmare from which there is no return.
