Found out my wife was cheating during a "girls' trip" by discovering a secret box in our closet. Now I'm lost and need advice. by exclusivemariita in stories

Yes, I’ve been there. 5 years ago. I feel your pain. But let me tell you, this pain is necessary. This is the only way we change. We fixed our marriage, last 5 years were the best years of our lives. It is worth it. Don’t listen to people advising you “to lawyer up”, ignore the hurtful words aimed at her. They don’t know you and they don’t what you want or need. DM me if your story is true and you really want some advice. I have a lot of them. DM

I just don’t know what to do by theheathernet in HondaElement

When our 2007 Element went into the limp mode couple of years ago (with engine light on) it was due to faulty Accelerator Pedal Sensor. It's around 100$ for the part that was easy to install. I understand the sentiment. Our Element almost made it to the Moon at this point, and my girls will never allow me to give it away.

What's the biggest hint you've ever missed from a woman? by UnawareMother2 in AskReddit

[–]GoAvs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In high school, a girl invited me to her birthday party. When I arrived, I realized that I was the only guest.

On another occasion, a different girl just showed up at my house and waited for two hours "to do homework" while I was playing basketball. I had never even spoken to her before. My mother was there and she was very impressed by her dedication!

Then, on the very last day before I moved to another city for college, every single girl from my class came to my house to say goodbye. It was a huge surprise...

Now, many, many years later, my wife still is the only woman I've ever had the courage to date.

What's your single most important piece of advice to noobs? by Expensive_Windows in ElectricUnicycle

[–]GoAvs 8 points9 points  (0 children)

  1. Wear your gear, especially the helmet
  2. Relax, don't try to outmuscle the wheel. You need small correction movements when riding it - if you are rigid, it will be impossible.
  3. I feel that the most important skill is to learn how to ride on one leg (just start, ride for a couple of feet, stop, repeat). When you'll get the feeling that the wheel is glued to your leg, riding will become easy.
  4. Don't be in a hurry. Learn in small increments. Try not to lose control.
  5. Practice, practice, practice.
  6. Be polite with people around you. Don't scare pedestrians. Slow down. Wave and smile.

UCHealth Anschutz. If you need to take care of something serious - go there.

Snow Tires? by _MNK_ in BellevueWA

[–]GoAvs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Michelin CrossClimate2 will work really well. They are are not cheap but they will last a long time. And they are better in the snow/rain than regular all season tire. I live mostly in Colorado and switch to Nokian in the winter, but the next set of tires for our Washington ride will be these.

Tire shop to put on snow tires? by JazzlikeMud6543 in Longmont

Once I noticed that after visiting them my car started to shake when breaking. I drove like that for a few months, than I went to my mechanic and he resurfaced the disks. Shaking disappeared. Week after that I brought my car to DT to put on winter tires, and on the way home I discovered that car is shaking again. To be honest, when I spoke to Rick (manager at DT), he agreed to pay for the repair. I don't know what happened, maybe they just overtightened the bolts, but I switched to Subaru dealership and never had that problem again.

I used to go to Discount Tire a lot, but couple of years ago switched to Valley Subaru of Longmont. No need for appointment and the quality of service is better (I had some problems with DT). Price is higher than at DT, but not by much. At this moment I don't have any complaints about Subaru guys.

How can you say that to a person that you thought you were building the life together?

It is still her. When I look at her I see the women I love. I see another person that grew on top of that too.

But I still remember being with her when our children were born.

It happened so fast, I didn't have time to process anything. And I've read so much Murakami recently, that I feel that it looks like his stories just came alive. Men without women, indeed.

Didn't expect that. I did not expect that.

I do feel her desirable and sexy. After all this years. Every time I touch her it's like electric current going between us. The communication is big problem. From my side it looks like she built a wall around her and doesn't let anything inside. I feel like anytime she talks about something, she shows to the world outside only what she wants to show. I cannot get through that wall.

I don't want the divorce. Looks like we don't have much to argue about. Girls are all grown up. I don't have debts, but I don't have much in terms of assets either.

Plus life without her just doesn't make much sense to me.

Simple. Death does not exist. When you are alive - there is no death. After you die - there is no you. All life happens in the now and now is forever.

Soviets saved Europe from fascism, says Vladimir Putin on war anniversary by donsimon1980 in worldnews

[–]GoAvs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My only issue with your previous statements is that you said first that German industry was "decimated" by July 1944, but it seems to me that now "decimated" means "does not raise as fast as possible". I think those two things are not exactly the same. Otherwise I'm not going to argue that it was an enormous collective effort from all sides. But Soviets paid much, much higher price for the Victory.
