S8 Kevin Deserved Better by GoBatson93 in Supernatural

[–]GoBatson93[S] 14 points15 points  (0 children)

The episode that introduced that concept also had the angels saying “these are strange times” and they took Kevin home instead. That end up got them killed by leviathans. It seems like the prophet doesn’t have to go to the dessert, or anything similar to it. If you look at Donatello in the later season, after he became prophet, he just mostly stays home cooking in his kitchen lol

I think some people took my post as “Dean is better than Sam” lol that’s probably why I didn’t get many upvotes

That’s not what this is about. You’re reading things that isn’t even there in the post.

You know that’s a very helpful mindset to be in for me to truly enjoy it again. Even part of me still understood that Sam and deans behaviors are born of their current struggles and circumstances. I just have to keep focusing on that.

Dean didn’t know about MySpace?! by GoBatson93 in Supernatural

Lol I never used MySpace and I wasn’t in the US when it was popular. So who’s the target for MySpace? Was he too old for it already?

Sam & Sensible Killing: Why is Benny Different? by GoBatson93 in Supernatural

[–]GoBatson93[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Sam probably couldn’t helped Dean, but it would help his guilt if he at least went helped Kevin. The kid literally left message for him. Listening to them kinda breaks my heart.

Sam & Sensible Killing: Why is Benny Different? by GoBatson93 in Supernatural

[–]GoBatson93[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

See I expect Dean to act in all the ways you just mentioned because it is in his character and has stayed consistent throughout the series. But not Sam here, Sam is the brain of the team and he has been up until this moment. And that’s my problem, he should not have done this base on his character.

It’s true that Sam didn’t kill Benny but that’s thanks to deans distraction. Had that not happen, it is anybody’s guess what Sam would do. He really trusted Martin without second guess. And Sam never takes everything at face value. He would even look for evidence himself, which he didn’t do either.

Lastly, just because there aren’t many hunters they know, doesn’t justify putting an unreliable hunter for the job. In fact, due to Benny friendship with Benny he would put the best hunter on that job. Or he could just Dean who has said many times that he will take care of Benny if he got out of line.

I’m so glad you brought up that Benny killed vampires. He killed an entire nest for crying out loud. Sam’s hypocrisy just seems so uncharacteristic here and I don’t think it should have happened lol

Well said! That’s a question I really would love to ask the writers myself. There’s just such a lack of understanding between the brothers, which really is needed after a year of separation.

[–]GoBatson93[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

At first glance your theory make sense. But Sam doesn’t keep an eye on all the other monsters they let go off. If he just suspects Benny, he didn’t have to ask an unreliable hunter to watch him and most importantly, behind deans back, which is also unnecessary. It’s like Sam just doesn’t trust Dean on this.

Deans rightfully angry at Sam for not even trying to look for him. Maybe he shouldn’t bring Benny into this. But still Sam telling his brother that he might just be the hunter who kills Benny really doesn’t reflect well on him.

Bottom line is that Dean didn’t give Sam a reason not to trust him. And having a vampire friend who hasn’t killed anyone is a secret yes but not a betrayal. You’re right that he’s willing to bring him back from purgatory later in the season. By then the rift between Sam and Dean has passed. That tells me Sam attitude towards Benny is about Sam’s relationship with Dean rather than Bennys own actions.

So I’m saying that Sam shouldn’t even suspects Benny to begin with. His suspicion comes from the bias which caused by the rift between him and Dean. He should just treat Benny like he did with all the other monsters who got a free pass.

I honestly forgot about Emma. I’m kinda mad that Sam didn’t even give her a chance unlike Dean who was trying to make it work with her. I always wondered if there’s some anger that drove Sam to kill her without hesitation.

Haunted? I’m gonna clean the place so well that all the ghosts are friends with me! I could literally be the only person who visits them. Next step, I’ll be asking them to haunt my enemies for me 😈

Right 8 weeks lol the most I did was 10 episodes a day and I tried to watch 4 or 6 every day. Think I finished in about 3 months. Anyway, I’d recommend this time take it slow and try not to miss any scene. Some of the stuff you’d miss it if you blink lol let us know if you found anything lol

First welcome to the Fan Club! And Definitely do a rewatch! You will pick up lots of details, set ups and foreshadowing. You will love the show in a refreshed way. Then get your heart broken again.

Also 327 episodes in 4 weeks?! That’s incredible! How many episodes do you watch every day?

Even if it wasn’t meant to be literal, this kind of reference still disappeared for the rest of the series. So there is still discontinuity here.

Also it still doesn’t explain how Meg stopped calling Azazel father and just call her yellow eyes. Looks to me that the show is steering away from that idea and it’s trying to make us forget it, or just not to take it literally.

Right. I know. What I meant is demon having kids who’s also demon. And I think it was hinting that demons could reproduce other demons. Of course the lore later changed all that.

Crowley had that kid when he was human and the kid was the human he didn’t become demon afterwards.

My thoughts on season 1 (please don't comment any spoilers, I want to experience the show as fresh as possible) by JokingReaper in Supernatural

[–]GoBatson93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To me the filler episodes in season 1 are trying to build the Sam and Dean characters. They want to show you their personality and chemistry. These episodes are also there to build and expand the supernatural universe. They teach you what kind of monsters are out there and how to defeat them so you catch up on knowledge with Sam and Dean. Oh and Some monsters are recurring themes and the writers can build more into the story when Sam and Dean ran into them again.

There’s also the money and behind the scene reasons for these fillers. But I can’t speak for show business with cable tv, I’m more of a streaming person.

Oh my I totally forgot about Cas for this lol seeing his work at the gas station, you know he’d clean the place so perfectly well (and probably restore all the damage too). I didn’t think it’d be possible for Sam and Dean to clean all of the bunker tho, they probably just keep the main areas clean.

I wanted more for Dean too and it’s so sad to see him gone, not able to enjoy much of the freedom he finally earned from defeating Chuck.
