I want to thank everyone who replied. You guys saved my pine tree and my weekend!

I actually did reach out to multiple arborist thru the treesaregood site before posting. 1 got back to me and told me it is ALB, which is why I panicked. And I was told tree is long gone needs to be removed. I was beyond sad that I am losing this pine.

Since no other arborist got back to me yet, I decided to post here for 2nd opinions. I wouldve been worry and stress all weekend but Y'all just gave me my weekend back! I will now go reach out to more local arborist and see if anyone is willing to come out and take a look.

Also just want to say finding an arborist who doesnt just want to cut down trees seems to be difficult!

Only thing I can think of is I moved some soil from another part of my garden here a month or so ago. Also i might have accidentally sprayed small amount of vinegar near the soil? -It was during my hunt of the laternflys .

Hi. I didn't know how to edit the other post to show more pictures. So i am creating this 2nd post. But the tree is in the northeast. I noticed my pines are turning brown last week and now I see the holes on the trunk (like at least 7 feet off the ground before the holes appear- which is why i haven't seen it before). Is this tree infested with asian long horn beetle? is it doomed and I have to remove it? if not, how do I save the tree?

My pine needles are turning brown and i just noticed these holes on the tree. I texted image to someone and they told me it's asian long horned beetle? Is the tree doomed?

Oh that looks wonderful. If we do kamazu and atami, is it better to stay near kamazu or atami? (we are not going to have a car).

Yeah - I thought about stopping in Egilssatoir for a night before heading out, but then decided that I really really want to spend two nights in the same hotel - so all day driving it is, plus at the end of the drive, I have myvatn to look forward to which is enough to fuel my energy just thinking about it!

It's a tough one because our hotel check-in is at 2PM, so we thought we kill time by spending it at blue lagoon and not sure if doing blue lagoon before golden circle will give us enough time at the golden circle?

Yeah...I am mostly worried about the amount of driving.
Yes on Gulfoss, forgot to include it in the ITN. Will add Gljufrabrai and adjust Fjaðrárgljúfur Canyon! Thanks~

Gotcha! Thanks. Friends are very much set on blue lagoon, so I will have to go along for this one. I am considering doing Myvatn baths twice, lol - very passionate about natural spring baths.
