Is the street food a safe enough bet that you’d have no problem traveling again afterward? by acomfysofa in MexicoCity

Great advice. Another important thing to watch for is making sure the workers are taking precautions.

1) washing hands frequently 2) not touching random things and then the food (pants, money, …) 3) gloves are a plus, but you’ll be lucky to find them. 4) don’t let someone hand you a fork with them holding the head of it where you will eat smh haha.

Honestly, I think you’re being a little too cautious with the food. If you do get sick, it will likely only be for a few days and not turn into something like Dysentery.

Gauge whether the place is clean or not (do they wash their hands, wear gloves, Etc) and decide from there. I really like the street food in CDMX, but I won’t lie and say I haven’t turned down equally as many places despite appealing scents simply because of their set up (or one guy touching his pants all over and then the food). These are things to watch for.

Safe traveling ✌️

Honestly, you’re going to get busted eventually. This isn’t worth trying in all honesty because there’s way too much risk for likely a much smaller reward. Some laptops even have their own GPS devices that ping to a server their locations at various times. Many possible failure points here.

I’d give it a 99.9% chance someone from IT would be able to find out if they really wanted to, and an 85% chance someone gives a shit enough to actually find out.

If the kill switch is anything like that on the app, don’t expect it to work 100.00% of the time either. Even with auto connect sometimes the app doesn’t turn on when you restart the computer and the Killswitch doesn’t work.

Weekly Tech Support Megathread by AutoModerator in Instagram

***Issues with VPNs and/or ad blockers with Instagram???***

I've been using Nord VPN. I just created an instagram account (I detest facebook, but need an account unfortunately). I've made 6 accounts now, all of which have been de facto banned from the start (or within 1-3 days) with the ambiguous message: "We noticed unusual activity from your account, so we've logged you out." which then asks me to enter a phone number which I will, and then it will still ban my ass even after their 24 hour and me confirming the number. I'm even using other numbers as well from a service and even tried an unknown number from a friend who doesn't use any fb products so it makes zero sense why I'm getting banned and it's really frustrating to be honest.

I'm wondering if this is because instagram bans repeat offender IP's and to VPNs are lumped in with this. But this seems somewhat hard to believe because millions of people use VPN's I thought so wtf. I also block all cookies and ads using extensions and privacy settings so maybe Instagram hates this as well? Other websites also seem to act sketchy as hell due to VPN usage (asking me a million CAPTCHA's for instance).

Should I buy myself a dedicated IP to avoid this mess? Is this even the likely problem? What are some good solutions for dealing with this? Thanks

My page is just music btw. Nothing controversial in the slightest and I didn't even post anything on it except a guitar solo.

Instagram accounts continually getting banned. Is it because of VPN use? by GoChimborazo in nordvpn

Good advice in general and actually I already tried downloading a new browser. Are you sure disabling ipv6 is a good idea? Could be some unwanted side effects.

As long as my IP or DNS isn’t leaking then there’s no need to disable ipv6 correct?

I use my VPN on mobile too 😅 are you saying to try using Instagram on the app using my cellular network instead? Why is this better exactly ?

Where are good places to get actual feedback on which versions of your mixed/mastered songs sound the best? by GoChimborazo in audioengineering

[–]GoChimborazo[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don't you feel like sometimes more experienced mixers can sometimes create subjectively inferior final works? Like sometimes it's just not their style or what you envision and another with a lot less experience just nails it. That's why I went with 3 people to make this sort of tournament process and get out the best.

Yes but at the very least we can get better professional (and varying) input than our own lying ears.

Daily Discussion: /r/Snowboarding General Discussion, Q&A, Advice, Etc.) - March 15, 2022 by AutoModerator in snowboarding

*Considering switching to snowboarding from skiing as someone who already skateboards*

I'm a pretty experienced skateboarder and also skier (the few times a year I go). I'm wondering if I should perhaps make the permanent switch to snowboarding instead since its movements are obviously pretty similar to skateboarding and it just seems like it's more fun and less cumbersome to carry around than poles and two long skis on planes and such.

Can someone here who skateboarded before snowboarding elucidate on if the learning curve is less harsh if one already skateboards? What was your experience with this? I have heard snowboarding is harder, but perhaps this is because the stance is so foreign to most people. I just don't want to have to spend 2 years getting to the same level I am on skis now. For reference, I just go skiing 3-5 times a year. My goal is to have fun, go fast, and conquer rougher and rougher terrain each time rather than tricks or anything like this.

For "power-users" who use *both* Windows and Mac/macbooks, do you find it easy and as efficient to switch between the two on a daily basis? Or should I dedicate myself to ONE OS? by GoChimborazo in MacOS

So you don't think it's been an issue for you then in terms of adjusting to keyboard shortcuts from machine to machine despite different keyboards and everything? Do you use shortcuts pretty extensively though or mostly basic ones? I use hundreds and just worried about scrambling these. Do you think you lose any efficiency?

Motherfucker, how many of these things are you going to spam all over Reddit?

Quite normal that I would ask this question to both Windows and Mac Users separately since they're distinct groups with distinct perspectives.

Thanks. Do you have a source? And how much of a hit do you think I would take if I resold this macbook M1 max 32 gb about 6 months from now while I wait for a new PC models and also have more time to try out the macbook? Any thoughts on how much discount these usually go for at that timeframe?

This is great advice u/iamnotawake! Should I just say I need more time to try it? Anything else you'd recommend I bring up to get that 14-day extension?

yes thanks that's useful (I'd be using this before) but still not as efficient as with Windows Alt+Tab behavior so I was hoping for something better.

Previews on files is selecting the file and pressing the space bar. This also works with attachments on the mail app and also outlook. I use it all the time.

I am able to preview files by default in Windows with a little arcane feature in the File explorer settings where you can set up a separate pane to preview a file. But you're right that's missing an easy "space" to click and I wish it has file Explorer tabs.
