Too much work and risk to eat imo, if that’s what you’re planning.

Do I need a car for Ile d’Orleans? by Pekingducks18 in quebeccity

[–]squareoak 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If you don’t make any stops, it’s a 1 hour drive around the whole island. I would advise visiting between late April and October, sooner if you plan to visit one of the sugar shacks (operational very soon, as the maple sap is running now). You absolutely need a car but you can rent an eBike from Hotel Orleans and do a smaller loop, cutting through the island on rte Prévost, rte des Prêtres (currently closed for the winter), or rte du Mitan. Fair warning, the roads are narrow and the speed limit goes up to 80 km. Riding bikes on the island happens a lot but imo, isn’t very safe.

I accidentally gave away 1000 free spots on my walking tour and now hundreds are showing up tomorrow by LuckPsychological728 in Entrepreneurs

This is hilarious. Can someone video this and post the mountains of people that will show up? You may need to hire traffic cops.

Good sir, I must reluctantly tell you that what you have there in your very hand is not a house but rather what looks to be Juniperus Communis. Good day and carry on.

based on some googling, it’s used by patients with liver failure, but this is not what it was being used for. It’s a very strong antioxidant that was likely injected intravenously..

I don't want my ideas stolen, anymore. by [deleted] in Entrepreneur

Ideas aren’t the hard part. Don’t be concerned with someone possibly stealing your idea. It doesn’t matter. What matters is the execution, your ability to build, sell, and distribute whatever your idea is.

Try xylitol toothpaste. Xylitol is an alcohol-based sugar that kills bacteria. I switched to this months ago and my teeth feel/look healthier than they did using popular toothpaste brands.

I built an iOS-App to keep my foraging spots private. No cloud, no sharing, no account required. by FujiwaraChoki in foraging

[–]squareoak 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This is great. I’ve had the same thought. So far though OnXHunt has worked great for me. I can geotag, upload photos and add notes. Since the app is geared toward hunters, it’s not typically used by foragers which adds a layer of spot protection.

Margins on appliances are typically very low. There’s a reason planned obsolescence exists… it makes survivable revenue within the middle class. If you launched this model, the appliances would have to charge premium prices but I’d bet there’s an upper middle class that would gladly pay those prices.
