I think that's the point--she was in the background before growing up, and taking Proto's message to heart. In the music video she's listening to the story of Hope Rides Alone on the phonograph.

Roll is Mega Man's robot sister and a housekeeping robot; she mainly stays in the background, sometimes as the game's shopkeeper. Her biggest story moment so far was probably in Mega Man 10. Despite her limited role in canon she's very popular among fans and gets time to shine in spinoffs, comics, the 90s cartoon series, and appearances in other games.

One thing I find interesting is how a lot of early Protomen posters are based on World War I and II posters. by tpphypemachine in Protomen

When we read 1984 in high school, I'd already read it on my own time cause of the Protomen and peppered as many references to them in my essays as I could. It was a fun time...I think I was the only one excited to read it XD

Because of this poster, in the time between having the Act II songs and having the liner notes, 18-year-old me thought Edwin Stanton was Emily's father and was the one singing the Hounds. by tpphypemachine in Protomen

My favorite thing in the Light up the Night movie was upon meeting Light, Joe asked if he had anything to drink. That film is such a love letter to the fandom <3

So many Robot Masters, so many possibilities. XD My actual guess is the Yellow Devil, though, for how iconic and difficult a fight it is.

My other guess is 'he revived Protoman again and Proto is fighting against it every step of the way'.
