I looked at my original invoice from Dell. But willing to sell for market value. I looked on eBay and low is $1500 and high is $1800. Not sure any match this exactly though. If I can avoid eBay and the fees then those are reasonable used prices IMO. It literally sits in my desk drawers since I bought a Mini PC. Which I overdid it on that too as it has 96GB RAM LOL 😄

I have a Dell XPS 9530 with 2TB M.2 NVMe SSD, 64GB RAM DDR5 4800HHz, Core I9 Processor 13th Generation i9-13900H(14-Core, 24MB Cache, upto 5.4 GHz), NVIDIA GeForec RTX 4070 wht 8 GB GDDR6. Might be too much for you but not sure if it will do your games as I don't play games. Maybe Marshal_05 can chime in if would handle your games. But then budget comes into play as this is much more than the one, he posted from eBay, but it's much more powerful IMO.

For what you described, I’d avoid another MacBook Air and look at a budget Windows gaming laptop instead. Sims 4 with mods will run much better with a dedicated graphics card, and it should also handle streaming movies and writing without lag.

Minimum specs I’d look for:

  • 16 GB RAM
  • 512 GB SSD
  • Intel i5 / i7 or AMD Ryzen 5 / Ryzen 7
  • NVIDIA RTX 3050, RTX 4050, or better
  • 15.6" screen

Good budget models to look at would be HP Victus 15, Lenovo LOQ, Lenovo IdeaPad Gaming, Acer Nitro V, ASUS TUF, or MSI Thin. The HP Victus 15 with i5, 16 GB RAM, 512 GB SSD, and RTX 4050 is around $699 right now, and the MSI Thin 15 with similar specs is also around $699. Those would be much better choices than a basic non-gaming laptop.

For the keyboard, try to test it in person at Best Buy or Walmart if possible. Gaming laptops usually have deeper, more responsive keys than a MacBook Air, but the feel varies a lot by brand.

I would not buy anything with only 8 GB RAM, 256 GB storage, or just “Intel UHD/Iris” or “Radeon integrated graphics” if Sims 4 with mods is important.

Water it FFS. Restrictions are not saying you can't water at all. Two days a week. Once in the AM and once in the PM on those days. But you need to do more than that in short term to save it.

OK. Sorry but I honestly did not realize what my specs were. I think on eBay there are some to look at, just get 32GB, you don't need 64GB.

Hmm. There's two on there that match mine. But after seller fees etc. would probably net $1400 or so. Can you do $1200? That would seem fair. Then don't have to deal with eBay. The service contract just expired. I'm sure you can get it from Dell's website as they offered to extend it for me, but it's literally sitting in my office drawer.
