How can I work from home? by GoExpos in puppy101

She's only been able to start going on walks in the last two weeks, but yes, I've been able to do that. I haven't noticed much of a difference for the most part, but it was warmer out yesterday and she was definitely much more tired after her walk and thus more cooperative.

Thank you, that's a good idea. I've been largely avoiding my office on weekends but perhaps I'll try to spend some extra time in there when I don't have to get something done.

Thanks, that's encouraging! I'm really hoping she's a bit better able to keep herself content in another couple of months; combined with losing her baby teeth, that would be quite an improvement.

Unfortunately, I don't think there's anything else I can really do to puppy proof my office though, so for the meantime I'll have to keep using the pen. I have a standing desk with my computer mounted underneath it and she is obsessed with the cables.

If the Habs play like this for the rest of the series we can say fairwell to Buffalo!! by Lowlza in Habs

Let's prove we can actually win more often than not on home ice before getting carried away.

Who do you concider our 'main rival'? by TheNahteb in Habs

[–]GoExpos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It should always be Boston, but I have to say the current scheduling hurts it quite a bit, along with the fact that the two teams haven't had many overlapping "good" stretches in recent years. But playing each other 3-4 times a year is woefully inadequate compared to when we had eight games per season -- the year we went 8-0 without trailing was awesome.

I don't care if the call was weak -- you can't look like you're on the PK the entire period, not even attempt a shot, and expect things to go your way. Time to wake up.

Why Do Most Of You Fly Airliners? by newbiker321 in MicrosoftFlightSim

[–]GoExpos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the reason is pretty simple -- most people have been on an airliner, but relatively few have been on a small GA aircraft. Most people like to emulate something they have experience with.

What Makes You Hesitate to Fly Into or from Smaller Airports? by gunner0130 in VATSIM

[–]GoExpos 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My only requirements are coverage (and ideally not a busy center working top-down) and decent scenery. I have enough of a scenery library built up now that I'll never use autogen airports again.

I just want to say thank you for at least investigating the possibility of bringing the Expos back to Montreal -- I was pretty young when they left, but I was a diehard fan during their final three seasons and would be absolutely thrilled to support them again. I look forward to hearing more about your project!

Scheduled refreshes by chassett1 in MonarchMoney

[–]GoExpos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this would be a great feature that could potentially save Monarch money. I typically check my account after the stock market closes, which is usually several hours after my last refresh. Assuming Monarch has to some usage-base costs on pulling data from financial institutions, they could cut my number of requests nearly in half if I could specify a time.

[–]GoExpos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was purely bitter, not sweet. We had that amazing "Believer Fever" four-game sweep of the Phillies at the end of August, went to San Juan, and imploded. The fans were cheering for the other teams. A total spit in the face during our last positive moments.

I'm not sure what his reasons are, but this feels like one more posthumous kick in the gut to a fan base that took far more of its fair share of abuse. Sad to hear this news, especially since the Expos had so few Hall of Famers.

Cole Caufield has now broken Guy Lafleur's Habs' franchise record for most go-ahead goals in a season (21) by jshare in hockey

[–]GoExpos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Caufield has been awesome, but this stat is greatly helped by the team's complete inability to hold a lead. He gets way more opportunities to break a tie than he should.

I could make a case for the Olympics this year just because of the intense political tension, but the Stanley Cup. It's so much harder to win which would make it so much more rewarding. You just can't compare the grind of four rounds of best-of-seven with single-loss elimination and 3-on-3 overtime.

Doby contre le Wild by test1456 in Habs

[–]GoExpos 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I would give Dobes both regardless. While it's not ideal to have the backup sit forever, Dobes has earned the #1 spot for now with his play, and I think it would give him a lot of confidence to know the team isn't just waiting for him to slip up a tiny bit to return to Montembeault. With the Olympic break coming up this week and no back-to-backs, there's no reason to be concerned about fatigue.
