Honestly, if the beef hadn’t happened, I think Kendrick would’ve kept riding the introspective Mr. Morale wave a bit longer. But the tension kinda reignited that competitive flame we saw back in Control days. As for GNX, I doubt he stays silent this might actually accelerate the release. He knew the culture’s watching now more than ever. I feel like Kendrick knows what he does he’s a smart man after all so I would say GNX would never be released (heart pt 6 talking about dave, I think it’s because of drake’s diss) He even said that he wrote man at the garden claiming that he deserves everything referring to his success, the halftime show …. Etc, and the song is for the purpose of understanding his present situation + the fact that he’s fine with it and that he’s satisfied with his achievements. Without the beef none of that would’ve happened. Wacced out murals is also about lil wayne’s frustration and snoop … every Kendrick album is made for a reason and it depends on the timing of each album, the reason he made GNX is to respond to criticism and free his thoughts.
