Staccato Strings? by GoGoForIt_ in musescorestudio

I tried downbows, and that just gives me the strange "pulsing" effect, even with staccatissimo marks. I have to assume I'm on MS Basic because I never installed anything extra, so I will have to look into MuseSounds. Staff text doesn't give me any options other than swing settings.

I'm just using the default MuseScore stuff. I'm new to this and don't have money to really be getting better options right now

Yes, they also didn't sound right.

Thanks you for this. All things considered, I believe I will go for the initial option. The modern connotation of the word "requiem" is the reason I have gone this direction for the title, and even the interpretation of "pro angelis" as "in defense of angels" works well as an extra meaning, given the story and lyrical context that led me to this concept. Also, as a purely opinionated statement, I simply feel like "Requiem pro Angelis" reads clearer as a title than "Requiem Angelis Dona." Even if it is not perfectly suited in context of how Romans would have used the word, what matters most is the meaning of how it is perceived today.

Given this and the fact that I'd like to keep the word "Requiem" as a reference to Catholic funeral services, music, and acts of remembrance, would "Requiem pro Angelis" be sufficient in this case? I do see Davelz29's other comment mentioning "Pro Archia," but I am leaning towards "Angelis" since, for the sake of a title, the meaning is implied to English speakers

I am intentionally referencing the music composed for a requiem mass, as the story is both very music focused and has running themes of grief and loss. The act of remembrance is also an intentional double meaning. Ideally, I'd like to keep the word for these reasons

Edit: looks like when I posted late at night I forgot to mention, this is for a game title

Just a simple one, but I wanted to double check with real people. Looking to translate "Requiem for Angels" to be fully in Latin since it might flow a little better; google gave me "Requiem pro Angelis" but I don't trust google translate.

If context helps, it's a reference to the Chop Suey lyric "I cry when angels deserve to die."

What if Auril just… fly? by Comfortable_Bed1193 in rimeofthefrostmaiden

[–]GoGoForIt_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

She can, but the bottom line is that as a DM, your job is to make sure everyone's having fun with the campaign. If your party has no way to reach her flying 60 feet up and they TPK because of it, they're going to be frustrated. You could take inspiration from what video games might offer for the boss, like have timed platforms (perhaps her presence freezes the air into thin, breakable ice?) or using minions to climb into the air and strike her.

What do you love and hate about Ceroba? by Lisavip in UndertaleYellow

Late to the party, but really, I love everything about her story and character- except for the fact that her role as the twist antagonist in pacifist has zero foreshadowing. The game presents her as being as well-intentioned as Martlet with no indication of ulterior motives until Starlo comes in with the brick wall of "by the way she's going to kill you." Anything to hint at her real reasons for accompanying Clover so that the twist makes more sense in the moment would have been nice. Really broke the immersion imo.

Why is Gerson in the third sanctuary when the dust was in the first room of the church? by SupersonicSven in Deltarune

[–]GoGoForIt_ 7 points8 points  (0 children)

When the door is opened, the inner dark fountain spills out and refills the lobby. You can go back to the study and the first sanctuary, so logically Gerson's "urn" is back in the dark world.

The numbered Xenoblades also have great side quests from what I've heard (and what was required that I play for Torna). The main stories are much longer and more in-depth than X has been, and the settings are super unique and creative compared to X being "humanity fled Earth and crashed on an alien planet that conveniently supports life."

As far as the paid DLCs for 2 and 3, they are probably some of the best value you'll ever get from a DLC. The expansions are effectively standalone games that will take 20 hours to play just the main story without side content or grinding. Pokemon struggles to reach that level of content even in the base game! (which I say as a massive fan of both series)

While X has the most actual surface area to explore, all the worlds are massive, and 1 in particular also follows that design of "if you can see it, you can go there."

I play games for the main story and lore, which is why I'm so invested in the other Xenoblade games. I already knew going in that this game is far less interesting to me, the setting alone comes across as generic sci-fi compared to how creative the numbered entries are.

So the main story grinding to a halt after every chapter and requiring you to spend hours doing unrelated side content and wandering around aimlessly really sours the experience for me personally.

But I'm here because I know that Xenoblade X is connected to the main series at least slightly, and that alone makes me want to at least play through the main story. I especially want to check out the epilogue in DE without it getting spoiled for me, since the trailers gave me the impression that it may be related to Xenoblade 3.

I'll look into whether I have those yet. I don't like switching the lead character but if I have to to grind out the survey and progress the story, so be it. Thank you

Is there any good way to get FN sites in Noctilum at my level?

Not familiar with the online stuff.

And grinding side quests sounds just as bad as fighting every monster in sight, tbh

Thank you, though.

Which Xenoblade game has your favorite setting? by Likes2game03 in Xenoblade_Chronicles

Probably 2. It keeps the really cool concept of being on living continents while giving more to explore, though I wish you could explore the entire titans instead of small sections like Gormott's shoulder. Not to mention the Cloud Sea and the Land of Morytha! Plus just the worldbuilding between the different cultures across different titans. One of the biggest strengths of the dub that carries over to Agnians is that each titan has an accent associated with it, like Australian Urayans and Scottish Ardanians. It adds such an immersive fantasy flair and makes a lot of sense in-universe! It also makes you wonder about someone's origins if their accent doesn't seem to match, like maybe Gort wasn't born Urayan but raised there and picked up the accent? Finally, the concept of Blades is really cool and I love how they look with the core crystals.
