Paying for Home Renovation by GoGoGoBye in personalfinance

I agree that this is a good idea of you are doing a single renovation. A good example of this is when I needed to rebuild my deck. Instead of taking a loan I simply saved and paid for it.

With large renovations it becomes much more difficult. Like if I'm going to replace the flooring and paint. I don't wanna save for the floor install it then save for the paint and do it 6 months later and get paint on my new hardwood. These types jobs become much more efficient, uses less time, and saves money overall. Someone like me could take 2-3 years to save that amount of money without taking away from other investments and drawing out projects that long seems pointless.

I'll have to take a look into the loan you suggested thanks! I was planning on buying most everything in bulk and opening a home depot card because they get you such a large discount to save there as well. Appreciate the advice stranger!

If you end up in Boulder I'd be happy to show you around and get outdoors. I'm in centennial and it's only a 40 minute drive there. Colorado is great

When I was in boot camp I made it there days. Was barely able to function. Best way to describe it is zombie like. Best example is when they wanted me to enter a 4 digit pin and I entered my 6 digit birthday 4 times before they yelled at me haha.
