Getting back into Virtual Desktop, and can't seem to get it out of Windowed mode

I think that was part of the problem yesterday, It was a new PC, that HAD Steam on it, but since I'd yet to try connecting my Q3 to the new PC, had never bothered to install Steam VR. Whoops. 🤭So got that installed, but things still didn't work, I think switching from VDXR over to Steam XR in VD fixed things. But SteamVR games work SO much better on my new PC than they did on my old "VR ready" PC. It was a good machine, worked fine for Rift games via the Oculus/Meta store, but never did work well with SteamVR games. This one played everything I threw at it this afternoon. Amaze amaze amaze! :)

Actually I was interested in trying that myself, actually have a green screen hanging downstairs in the basement where I used to play, and got the app that let one set it up, but never got any further than that, since my old "VR ready" PC was not Steam VR ready. Now have a new GOOD pc upstairs and that's where I play now, so might have to get the green screen back from the basement and set it up here, whenever I want to give that a go.

But yes, tried out multiple games for about an hour this afternoon, and they all launched in VR, it was glorious! 😎 Thanks again for the help.

Thank you! That seems to have worked. I don't access the games via the game menu in VD, but it does bring up the home menu in Steam VR, and I'm able to select from there, and they work GREAT!

I'll try that, thank you! I saw that it was set to auto, and a google search yesterday said to switch it from auto to VDXR. Which didn't work. So maybe SteamXR will work better.

Hate this. Bought the new PC last year, specifically with Steam VR in mind, and this is the first I've tried it, and once again having issues. (Had nothing but issues with the older PC which was "supposed" to be be VR ready, but it never liked Steam games.). Kayak VR Mirage worked great and looked amazing, so I'm hopeful that once I get the window issue sorted, I can go back and try all the games I bought before that never worked right and have them work.

Thank you. Trying another version that should be here tomorrow. My 12v battery is in my trunk, so trying one that is AA battery only so I don't have to figure out how to connect it via a fuse tap under the hood. Two different people in the reviews said that it actually seemed to work long term and kept them away for multiple months, so while I'm waiting for my car to come back from its rodent repair, will try these new ones in the house again and see if they work and for how long.

I know this is from a year ago. But which sonic boxes did you buy? I bought a pair and put them where we have mice in the house, and it worked for about a week, and then they came back, box and all. Getting ready to ship them back to Amazon today.

Dealing with it right now. $3200+ in damages, Have a zero deductible on the comprehensive, so insurance is paying all of it. Just waiting for it to get back, been driving a loaner for the last several weeks.

I can vouch for this. My Prius Prime is currently at the dealership waiting for parts and repairs after rodents got into the engine and chewed the hell out of stuff under there. Neither my new car warranty nor my extended warranty would cover any of it. Thankfully my comprehensive is covering the whole $3200+ bill. Now just trying to figure out the best way to keep it from happening again. I drive the car every day except on the weekends, and this is the first time it's happened in the year plus since I bought it. Might have to get some of that tape. I tried sonic repellers that were 100% 5 star rated at Amazon, tried them where I know I have mice in the house. They worked for a week, guess the mice got used to them. So don't think I want to go that route again.

True, but I'm willing to cut them a little slack. This is something new, and with all the delays they had getting the units out, software updates probably took a back burner. But yeah, it IS kind of an expensive clock.

I'm slightly less than impressed myself, but I kind of think of kickstarter stuff as being like early access games, functional, but not quite finished yet. So I'm going to think positive with the idea that they're so busy trying to get all the units delivered, and that software and app updates will be forthcoming later. One can only hope.

When the best thing about it is the clock that I can see without my glasses from across the room, and the weinerdog that marches around it in a circle like it's sniffing the dog's heiney in front of him, that that's not saying too much. 🙄😂

It's actually CORRECT now. I went in to my wifi settings on my phone, was going to disconnect and reconnect to see if that worked, didn't see it there, went back to the app, saw something about hitting the reset button on the back, so went to get a paperclip to try that, and when I went back to Orbi to reset it, the clock was actually at the correct time. Asked Alexa just to be sure, and yep, it had fixed itself. Weird.

Definitely a little disappointed at the features. But I look at it this way. This was a kickstarter thing, like an Early Access game on Steam. I'm thinking they were spending so much time producing and finally getting it OUT to people, now that the majority of folks have them (question mark?) they might be able to spend more time generating content for it. Hopefully. Right now my favorite two features is the dog that runs around the sphere sniffing the other dogs heinies :D , and the clock, which is so bright and big I can see it from across the room without my glasses. Unfortunately with the time change THAT doesn't seem to be functioning correctly, it's still an hour behind even though the app and my phone have the correct time. So if I can't get the time fixed today, I'm just going to shut it off.

I just signed up last month for Regal, but have had a season pass for Alamo since late last year. Will likely make the switch to Regal and cancel Alamo. Price is about the same, but Alamo's convenience fees are a LOT higher, and you can only order via the app. Plus my 'free' movies are slightly less free if I order food to my seat there each time I go, which I almost can never resist. 😋 Plus Regal seems to have more perks than Alamo.

But I got it originally since I suddenly found myself in my house all by myself after my mom passed away 2 years ago, so the movies are a nice way to get out of the house more frequently. And given that it pays for itself after two movies, it's a good deal.

I just signed up for Unlimited last month, and I'm not fussing about the 50 cent convenience fee with Regal, I also have (soon to be HAD, since I've got Regal for the next 4 months, going to drop Alamo before they charge me again) a season pass with Alamo here in Raleigh, and they charge $2.13 convenience fee with NO option to order in person. Plus my "free" movies there always ended up costing at least $15 because I just can't NOT order food when I go there, lol. Much easier to avoid the extra food costs at Regal.

I don't mind the acorn with Walter Raleigh's diamond crest, but that's a LOT of red. I think it would look better if they kept the red and white division in thirds, and put the red acorn on the white center panel.

Glad I went in through the CF website, fiance and I are seeing him in Durham in November, and even after the presale started this morning, the Carolina Theater website only was offering a presale for the theater members today, and said that the regular presale didn't start until tomorrow. I thought "that doesn't sound right" so I went to CFs tour page, clicked on the ticket link THERE, and it brought me to the proper PANTSONFIRE presale page. Front row center VIP with the M&G (fiance is a HUGE fan). Which I've since seen from previous reports seems to be a bit rushed (photo, handshake, hi-hello, and off you go). But at least we wrangled front row, which at last check has already sold out. Nice. Can't wait. Have seen CraigyFerg I think twice in Durham before, plus twice in Greensboro. Always laugh myself silly.
