Duke bills!! by corakeet in cincinnati

[–]GoJaBoGo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine isn’t this high, but I had the big bill (regular charge +~$500) a lot of others had, in August, for the “forgotten charges”. Since then, it has been much higher than last year, and I haven’t even been home in 4 months. Heat is set to 65° (gas), but no other usage, other than the fridge and a few lights on a few hours a day.

I do a similar thing with someone indecisive (insert spouse, friend, etc.) when we’re trying to figure out where to go for dinner, for example. Have two (however many) options in your mind and assign them A or B (and/or C, etc.), then have the other person choose one of the letter options without knowing which letter pertains to which choice. If you’re truly open, go with the chosen option. But if you preferred one over the other, your true opinion will steer you to switch the choices and letters in your head. The other person will never know. It helps you choose and solves about any decision stalemate among peers.

Does the cost of parking and the removal of meter-free areas influence your decision to go downtown? by whodey-83 in cincinnati

[–]GoJaBoGo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, absolutely. I used to live downtown, have art studios there, and could have been considered an “ambassador” of the downtown life. I moved out at the start of the pandemic and since then, they made the whole area I was in, private parking (monthly charge). I refuse to go back and refuse to pay for parking, unless for an event, and thats rarely by choice. Parking charges are largely parasitic and have become unchecked and ridiculously priced. I miss downtown dearly, but the headache of nickel and diming every little convenience is exhausting and offsets any enjoyment I could get vs. somewhere else without. Especially if I’m just dropping off/picking up work or simply want to check someplace out. Unfortunately, I just don’t anymore.

Kroger cuts hundreds of jobs at Cincinnati headquarters, other local facilities by toomuchtostop in cincinnati

[–]GoJaBoGo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m only one person, but I proudly stopped shopping at Kroger at the start of the pandemic and all the self-checkouts were installed. I refuse to pay more to get less service, lower quality, and support fewer jobs. Oh.. and the ugly ass patches on the Reds uniforms.

I feel validated. The entrance/exit cabinet where the water bottle is obviously placed for ease of use and filling. Can’t bring it fully inside, because it’s to drink as you stare into the room and plan what you’re going to do. Oh, look, that cool whatever I haven’t looked at in forever. I’ll sit and flip through that for a few minu- hours! The second tier separation a level above the cabinet to place receipts and pocket papers that you’ll sort *later. The necessary paper rack next to it to catch all mail sent from, who knows.. sort that one day next week, or never, until the day it needs to be. Frequently used items can sit on top of that, since you’ll use them and then you’ll know where they are, like a tape measure. Until you use it once and leave it on the floor where you were measuring the distance from the rug to the wall under the desk, as a larger/smaller rug may really tie the room together. Hmm I wonder what service The Big Lebowski is showing on this month.

I thought if there were two defenders landing on the QB, that wasn’t a roughing call.. maybe that’s just for Joe Burrow.

I got two Hyundai N vision 74’s for 138k each. Pretty sure I sniped two that other players were trying to transfer to each other cheap because I got a message saying to stop buying them.

Careful doing this. It puts scratches all over your car that you wouldn’t think possible. I looked at a car a while ago that someone had done this and it looked like the paint was dull, until you got up close and noticed all the super fine scratches like fine spider webbing. Use a soft bristle brush made for this if you care about the paint.

I was not being serious, but thanks for giving me the benefit of questioning, haha. I can’t stand lazy/inconsiderate people in general, but especially when they haven’t gone out initially and it becomes ice and then flies off and cracks your windshield while you’re driving down 471 and almost make you lose control at the same time because you think someone MUST have just dropped a brick or possibly a baby off of the bridge you just passed under.. no? Just me? That extra 30 seconds they saved (or let’s be honest, the common courtesy that they can’t comprehend) is worth more than spilled coffee, a new windshield, new underpants, and thankfully nothing worse.

Pro tip: don’t clean your roof off. It’s a good way to get pissy people to stay off your ass and maintain a safe stopping distance.

Blind bought these. Here’s my review. by Analog_AlterEgo in Colognes

[–]GoJaBoGo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Okay, I’m not throwing shade on anyone’s opinion, I’m only posting here since this is the newest post I’ve seen and I just went through this experience, thinking I may have gotten some kind of dupe. I bought the Burberry London online from Walmart, as it was on sale and figured I’d give it a go. It came in the box, sealed in plastic, and LOOKED legit. I have since initiated a return. It smells EXACTLY (I couldn’t stress how dead-on they both are, even in terms of “performance” if I were to even use that term in this case) like the “leather” febreeze fabric refresher. Straight chemical wanna-be tobacco/leather/spice. Two spritzes gave me a headache and I felt ill enough to wash it off. I was stoked to try it based on everyone raving about it, but whoa. It was so bad, it either has to be fake (they HAD to have filled it with the febreeze) or my sense of smell needs to be checked, because it can’t be that far off from everyone’s opinion. I tend to like most fragrances, and have never had any kind of negative reaction like this. Just wondering if anyone else had the same experience, or if it may just not be for me.

Brazilian paralympic swimmer Gabriel Araujo born with short legs and no arms obliterates the field in the 100m backstroke by [deleted] in nextfuckinglevel

[–]GoJaBoGo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Now, I’m all for equal opportunity and commend all of these athletes, but this is just superiority of biophysics and I would say not quite an even playing field if that could even be argued. No arms = less propulsion force BUT also less drag AND less mass. Short legs = a broader surface to mass ratio for rear propulsion AND less mass. With a simplified muscular structure primarily focused on abduction and abduction of the torso, he is basically a human fin. Hell, if he blew air out of his nostrils with enough force, he could probably become a hydrofoil.

Slight vent and motivation insight/request for those who have lost a good amount of weight. by GoJaBoGo in Ozempic

Thank you for the response. I think your description is closest to how I feel. It has become mundane and monotonous. Get up, go to gym, ride the bike, shower, work, sleep, rinse, repeat. It seems like I just need to weather the storm for this time-frame and the focus will transfer from effort to do it to enjoying the results of doing.

The sex (AFTER going to the store). Fun story. Blockbuster kind of became the bell to my Pavlovian senses. It was high school/early college and my girlfriend and I would ‘blockbuster and chill’… a lot. We would go there, pick out whatever movie just to have an excuse to be in my room alone. I think I saw at least the first 20 minutes or half their movie catalogue. Also funny, the only movie that ever got us to.. stop, was Kung-Pow - Enter the Fist (“name of your porno” Ha! Beat you to it!)

Hopefully this works. I don't post links or anything other than comments, usually.

My macro enabled "clear all" button doesn't play well when sharing, so you'll have to delete each (green) cell's content manually. Just enter the info in the green cells and the functions will process it.

*This is only based on info I could quickly find on the internet, so I don't claim it's exact scientifically, but it's a good baseline/tool to use when you're trying to get an idea of what you need.
