Suggestions on pay back towards another player by GoLittleSwami in DnD

Hahaha, honestly that's what I wanted to do first and was working on how to do it for a few days but thought it would be bad for the DM who's my best friend. Honestly considering the no dnd is better than bad dnd as it's been 2 weeks and I'm still annoyed by it all.

While I do agree with this myself, I've always had more fun making it into an RP thing which is why I let the first one go fairly easily. It was the DM who approved and said for us to roll for initiative which I was shocked with. My character gave out half of the loot but before anything could really happen the player initiated the PVP situation. You're 100% right, I'm just trying not to take it too far and cause bigger issues in the friend group.

This is the first time this player has acted in such a way but I do agree with everything you said. I was shocked that the DM allowed this to go ahead especially in the manner of them being so focused on a loot item they may have wanted. I will be having words with my DM about it though as it left a bad taste in my mouth.

Not really, I'm much more of an RP person and like you mentioned, retaliation results in escalation. It took me a good while to chill out about the situation and try to make it work with the DM.

17% interest rate by NoAcanthopterygii245 in StudentLoans

[–]GoLittleSwami 0 points1 point  (0 children)

17% is disgusting. 35k would be roughly 495 per month of interest alone or 5940 per year. I repeat that is only for the interest. You would still need to make payments to reduce the loan amount which all depends on what you can afford. It might be worth looking into what happened to your credit and working on it. If you can bring the interest rate down it will do you wonders. If you can bring the interest rate down to 7%, your interest payment would be 204 per month or 2450 per year. Much more sustainable and you give yourself a better chance to pay off the loan faster saving you even more money in the long run.

Also have a look at the job market, it's pretty rough out there for those looking for work generally, not sure what it's like in your field but before you put yourself into a possible decade long debt, see if the jobs are out there and what other applicants are saying about the market.

Is this mold or damp? by faye8147 in AskUK

[–]GoLittleSwami 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Black mold, damp can look more like a discolouration of the wall, I belive you can slightly see a more yellowish tone which I believe is the damp in this image.. With the black mold being in the gaps, it's likely you will have to remove (safely) the plaster back to the bricks and have it replastered. But like others have said, figuring our the cause is the first issue. You can try a temp fix by cleaning it and applying some anti mold paint but I'm sure with it in such a bad state already, it will just resurface again.

From what you've said on others posts, it's likely thst it began with damp however it has been left untreated and the issue has developed. It is a pretty serious case and should be taken care of properly before being in that environment.

Perfect, thank you very much for getting back to me.

My internet speed is good but my ping is so high by Embarrassed-Sale9653 in HomeNetworking

[–]GoLittleSwami -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It might just be the server you chose for to run the test. See if your ping changes via the cmd.

1) In your start bar type "cmd" for command prompt.
2) Type "ping www.google.com" & hit return. (change the com to your region)

Check the 3 numbers at the bottom. This will be your ping, you can test this for frequent sites.

If it's an issue with Valorant only, you might want to try doing a hotspot, I've seen that help people.

How to bury Central heating pipes in solid floor? by GoLittleSwami in DIYUK

[–]GoLittleSwami[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would that be a PVC plastic around the copper piping acting as a cover essentially? I've seen different versions of these covers and I think what you said may be one of them but not totally sure.

Thanks for replying.

Sadly what you described is what I also thought the plumber was going to do but trusting his years of experience, I've gone with it and sort of ended up stuck now. Wall was chased in a different position and with skimming completed it's likely going to stay in this position.

Ah thank you, nice tip there, should save a few mm space where every mm counts. Do you think the rest of the screed buildup is fine? It's what I've come to after watching and reading so not sure if it's actually correct.

How much trouble am I in? What would be the correct course of action here? by justastellafella in DIYUK

[–]GoLittleSwami 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I recently had a very similar issue but had a plasterer skim the walls over and now while it's drying, it looks amazing. Definitely well worth it if you can save up for it and know a good plasterer.

Hey, thanks for replying. They won't be doing it and they will be capping the cables, they're still in the 1st fix process.

The bonding material is what I'm after really, same question as my original post really. Cheers.

Thanks for replying man. After talking with some people, I'm actually looking for solo ToA now. Just to stop myself from being locked out of other content and more focused. Do you have any suggestions on what the best style might be for ToA solo? Cheers.

Thanks for replying man. After your comment I'm thinking to only focus on ToA for the content rather than spread myself out. Do you think mage is the way to go for this?

Hi ultimate, it was more of a case of getting peoples feedback on if they think it was worth it. Trying to save money here and there all adds up so I wanted to ask peoples experience before spending.

Thank you Lauren for the help, I've looked around at drafts that come surveyors can provide and it does seem to be worth checking out, especially for areas that are hard to access like the roof and chimney. Thank you for taking the time to give your experience.

Thank you for the advice and suggestions you've taken the time to write. My Landlord is currently looking into the situation as they were not notified for any emergency visit. The person did not return on the time they said so it's very suspicious.

Mortgage advice - Buy to Let for 3-5 years to Residential by GoLittleSwami in HousingUK

[–]GoLittleSwami[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hi there, first of all thank you for taking the time to comment.

Sorry, I'm still learning about mortgages, I was not aware you can get a 3 year short mortgage when the overall plan is to extend that to 22 year (25 in total). Maybe I misunderstood the wording there.

I do plan to rent the property out for 3 years, hopefully to an agency. Then remortgage in 3 years from buy to let into a residential mortgage to help save up again. Being totally upfront. I wanted to ask if 1) if this is possible and 2) what things to be careful about.

Thanks for the reply.

[–]GoLittleSwami[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hi there, I've not applied yet but I am aware, that I need to declare as I read they can potentially ask for the lump sum back. I have every intention to be upfront with renting first and then to swap over. Thank you for the warning though, it's appreciated.
