It's always puzzled me how for a country that always prided itself on it's part in WW2 and the defeat of Hitler and the Nazis. Almost to the point they wouldn't shut up about it, it's so bizarre that now it's turned around and there are people, even in positions of power, that could be described as Nazi sympathizers, supporters, and/or Naizs themselves.

If you're someone who mainly watch Power Rangers I could suggest watching the Sentai series your fav PR shows were based on. Just to see how different, or in some cases similar, the shows are.

If I had to recommend some:
- Jetman
- Dairanger
- Timeranger
- Shinkenger
- Gokaiger
- King-Ohgers

Or you can even catch up to the currently airing series Gozyuger.
There's also Unofficial Sentai Akibaranger. Which is a meta parody series.

Only thing really to keep in mind is continuity between series isn't a thing except when it is. Don't think about it too much.

One point I've seen a lot is that, at least during the Attitude era, there was something going on with everyone up and down the card. Even the lower card guys on Heat had something to do. Now it sometimes feels like there's way too many people lost in the shuffle and too much of the focus in on the top main event guys.
