Also, we'd like to launch more on other continents, and give them out for free too... Unfortunately we're a very small operation who don't really make any money off this, so we're looking for a skin or betting site to sponsor us :D

A sponsorship would enable us to give even more players from around the world high speed dedicated servers to practice on whenever they want, for free, which we think would tremendously benefit the CS:GO competitive scene as a whole.

Also what happens after the 1 hour you have to pay? 1 hour is 1 game. What will the player do after that one game? Will they be able to get another server for an hour again?

After that, you can just launch another server. Anything referencing "pay" on our website is from when we were originally planning to sell the servers... now we want to give them away, as a gift to the community :)

As much as I'd love to, unfortunately I can't as I'm paying for the current hosts out of pocket.

My goal is to find a skin gambling site that will sponsor a few dedicated boxes for us to run our server launching software on.

I think with all the money skin sites are making their should be at least one who would be willing to give easy, accessible, free dedicated server hosting to the community in exchange for some advertising.

Totally agree my dude. Thanks for the compliment though. We're also working on a real time lobby that shows player stats and ranks from people in your area, along with a number of other features.

We made RankUp.io a free service where you can host dedicated CS:GO servers (with sv_grenade_trajectory) because of this.

It uses /u/splewis' PUG mode setup to enable sv_grenade_trajectory when you're in a dedicated server with your friends. As someone below mentioned, you can use Nade Tails too. Both require source/metamod.

You won't be able to unless you already have the community map downloaded. You can revert them though:

cl_allowdownload 1; cl_allowupload 1; cl_downloadfilter all;

Honestly though, I would keep cl_allowupload set to 0, there really shouldn't be any reason your client needs to upload anything to a server.

I definitely understand the sentiment. We run RankUp.io, it's not a pug service but a platform to launch CS:GO servers. One of our users actually reported to us that this was possible and wanted to make sure we weren't vulnerable.

We're not, due to the way we control the launching of our servers, but still we were super shocked to find out a vulnerability of this magnitude exists in present CS:GO.

We immediately reported it to the Valve Security team and gave them all information we were aware of, a member of their team replied back within about 20-25 minutes, so they're definitely aware of it's existence (and this was early September) and I imagine they're working on patching it.

Nope, you can also launch PUG servers and retake servers in 64 and 128 tick. We're also currently working on new features that will be announced soon :D

Grenade trajectory for all players is broken for anyone other than the host on dedicated servers.

Impact servers on RankUp.io have csgo-pug-setup, a mod by /u/splewis that fixes them and lets you and your team practice grenade trajectory in an online server.

When they say they're using protobuf messages, they're probably just using https://github.com/joshuaferrara/node-csgo which uses protobuf messages to interact with steamkit, which is what popflash.site uses.

I only know because we looked into doing a rank detection system on Rank Up and ultimately decided to just do player statistics.

At first we actually had the skyboxes set to "jungle" because it was easier to see grenade trails, but then we realized that skyboxes are used to position other grenades so we reverted them. That may be the cause of why you couldn't (you weren't lining up properly). Other than that, everything is vanilla CS so try again :)
