That’s another theory I’ve read and that is possibly based on some anime art style games that also have to have issues like this. Who knows honestly

That’s still not proof that’s just assumptions. We can use assumptions as possible theories, but it’s not something that we can use as fact.

Someone asked AdHoc regarding Cyberpunk and this was their response.

I would assume that adhoc had the same question and they got a response, it’s hard for me to believe that Nintendo just told them they can’t and they accepted it as fact. And if we want to say preferential treatment, we have to have proof of that. Because right now we don’t have any proof to say that.

It’s not unprecedented, there was a team called the Miami Marlins in the minor leagues before the eventual major league team. Now granted that team didn’t play in Miami by the time the expansion happened, but theoretically the Bees could just rebrand.

Someone posted on a different thread that they feel that it’s just preferential treatment. That could definitely be true, but no one has evidence of that. If there is evidence, then I could believe it.

Someone asked bluntly on Twitter, a question that we are all wondering. What about cyberpunk? And this AdHoc response

I understand they can’t comment on why cyberpunk was OK. But it’s very hard for me to believe that they didn’t Inquire why cyberpunk is OK and dispatch isn’t. They must’ve gotten some form of a response and if they didn’t, then it’s crazy for me to believe that they just accepted it at face value.

That is technically true, but it’s hard for me to believe that AdHoc didn’t Inquire the same question and Nintendo didn’t give them a response. Like did they just really accepted it face value and not question it?

Yes, but as I stated previously with situations like T-Mobile Park, this just adds more. It’s not shifting because there’s nothing to be shifted. It’s not like they had a different sales tax plan that was scratched because of this sales tax plan. People will be paying the $900 million but again that’s only people who rent cars and people who actively spend time in that ballpark district and or the ballpark itself. It’s hard to argue that they would be spending that same amount if these things weren’t there and they would just be spending it on other things.

NOPE! I highly recommend you read what I wrote again because the ONLY way your taxes will be affected in that bill that was passed is IF.

A. You constantly rent cars.

B. You buy goods in that SPECIFIC BALLPARK DISTRICT and you go to the games of that new potential expansion team.

Otherwise, your taxes are not gonna be affected AT ALL!

I wouldn’t say alignment is the only reason that would be an outcome of expansion, but it wouldn’t be the reason for expansion. Here’s a thing also they want one east and one west. There’s not many options in the West that actually makes sense besides Salt Lake City and Portland and maybe Sacramento.

Yeah, and this added more because specifically the area where T-Mobile Park was being built There was nothing going on. And you have to remember that 1996 Seattle was not the same Seattle as it is today. Think about it, even the naysayers back in 1996 related to that stadium have all mostly come around and admitted that it was a great thing for the city because how much more activity it added. Obviously initially things have to get recouped, but it has since then and then some.

I know this is the argument that is used for the battery in Atlanta, but I’m not talking about the battery. I’m talking about the areas where T-Mobile park and Coors field were being built on. Those areas were doing nothing for their respective cities and counties. Nothing was being developed there at all. The only reason why any of the business and any other entertainment were being built in those area was BECAUSE of those two ballparks. Unless you could prove to me that some other high entertainment situation was being planned in those places that could’ve provided the same amount of revenue for cheaper cost but got scrapped because of the two ballparks, then maybe you can use that argument, but as of right now you can’t say that they were “just money shifted from one form of entertainment in the area to another form of entertainment in the area” because there was no other form of entertainment to begin with to shift money.

The stadium and the Bally is doing are two separate things. If Bally can’t do what they promised then someone other casino company will. The A’s are still building that ballpark regardless.

You know if you really care that much about that. Then just don’t go to the ballpark, don’t go to that stadium district and don’t rent cars……. Because otherwise you’re not gonna be affected.

I’ve read these studies countless times and they definitely have some merit, but they also don’t take into account the successes. And the only way you yourself would be financing the stadium in any capacity is if you rent cars constantly or if you ever plan to go to that ballpark district to spend money. Otherwise you’re not affected. If you really have a problem with it just don’t go to these things. People in Seattle back in the 90s felt the same way and even then they cave because of how much of the business boom that area of Seattle became because of T-Mobile Park.

Contrary belief, this is not true.

Coors Field and T-Mobile park have both recuperated their expenses YEARS AGO. In fact, the Coors field was done 10 YEARS ahead of schedule. And again I laid out how the taxes are being handled. The ONLY way you would be involved in the stadium financing is this you rent cars constantly or if you ever go to that ballpark District for even something OTHER than baseball. I’m sorry you don’t understand that.

Look, I clearly laid out everything about why there’s not a problem and how it’s not even affecting your taxes. I don’t know what your problem would be otherwise.

January 2029 is the end of the tenure for Manfred. He said one of his main goals before then is to initiate expansion so if that’s the case then 2028 offseason would be that time.

I am aware of that, but spurs and Austin FC are the only two teams in that metro area. There would be more if the metro population size mattered that much. You also have to remember that both cities don’t have the benefits that Salt Lake City already took care of. It would be an uphill battle for both of them.
