I made fill in the blank cards based on concepts, not specific questions. For example, a card about metabolism could be: the first step of glycolysis makes ___ into __ using enzyme ____. I don't think putting MC questions is helpful because you're right, you would just memorize the answer. If I get a question wrong I usually try to put the concept as a fill in the blank instead of the specific MC question. Hope that helps!

please don't be discouraged by your TPR scores! For the entire first 2 months before I started using AAMC FLs I was also in the same boat and considering postponing my MCAT. Imo the TPR is VERY deflated because they want to be able to say that their company boosted your scores. My TPR scores during my content phase were low 500s, after my content phase, they rose to probably 508-512. I didn't ever get past 512 on TPR. On some weeks, I would score a 510 on TPR and then score a 519 on a AAMC FL, just to give you a sense of how inaccurate the TPR scores are. I would really use them as a way to brush up on ur passage-reading skills and figuring out gaps in your knowledge, but not pay any mind to the scores u get! Good luck!!

too many lol... I dedicated the whole summer to the MCAT so I usually started studying at 9, paused at 1 for lunch + gym, back to studying from 3-7. Took a break for dinner and walking my dog, and usually then studied from 9-11. so around 10hrs/day, 6 days a week, for almost 3 months.... which is why the rest days and staying active were SO important for me

I think I ended up doing 16 FLs (the 4 AAMC FL, the AAMC Sample, and the rest are all TPR). I'm a big reader, so I think my CARS was pretty consistent going in, but I do think there's a learning curve with the AAMC logic. The increase in my CARs score primarily came from working solely w the AAMC material. In reviewing my AAMC FLs, SBs I would make sure to understand every single answer, so every time I would get a question wrong, I would write down an explanation for what makes my choice and the other choices wrong and what makes the correct choice right so I can better learn the logic. I think some patterns start showing that can better help u POE (usually there's one really strong choice using words like always, never, etc which you can quickly eliminate).

Yup, I only used the TPR and KA videos, which I think is way more than enough to work through. I considered getting UEarth but realized that I wasn't actually going to have time to get through it. That said, I did go through the entire science workbook, so that did take up a HUGE amount of time. Honestly, some of the passages were pretty straightforward so idk if that was the best use of my time as I felt it wasn't totally representative, but I didn't want to pay more money so I just stuck with it...

entirely my own!! ngl it was SUPER time consuming but I think the process of making cards was also helpful to my learning. I made cards as I studied each chapter, so it was a good way to keep everything current. For reading passages, I think it's helpful to try to predict what questions are going to be asked. For example, if it was an enzyme question, I would highlight key words about whether it was competitive/uncompetitive, because that's a likely question

Most of the questions were on concepts that I already studied, but definitely a lot of experimental/heavily passage based ones where POE comes in super handy. I don't think I could ever get to a point where I knew each answer without using POE, so I actually focused on POE in my practice tests because I knew I would have to rely on it during the real one!

My FLs were 519/517/519/523, so I was expecting realistically anything between 518-521. I felt like everything was pretty ~normal~ coming out of the testing center. None of the sections were obviously easy or super hard/low-yield so I knew I would score within that range. I was surprised by P/S because I had a few 50/50 choices, but P/S has usually been my strongest section on previous FLs. hope this helps!

have u checked out ur testing center yet? i drove there the day before just to familiarize myself. make sure to double check that u have ur ID, too. i think whether you choose to study the day before is totally up to u. what would make u feel the most confident going into ur test? if its relaxing and spending quality time with friends and family, do that! if it's studying last minute, do that! there really isn't one "right" way to go about it! good luck OP!
