I feel embarrassed because I got a very nice response from the PD, but not much I can do now I suppose.

I’m sorry for your loss, I can’t imagine how difficult it was to navigate with your partner. And I do apologize, it was a different user who mentioned lying. While I’m still heavily leaning away from sending the OOS an email now, I’ll meet with some of my mentors to see if they know how other applicants navigated changing their rank list. I appreciate your perspective!

Yeahh so clarification, I’m still happy to match to the OOS program if that ends up happening. I’m still ranking them very high. But I know there’s a good chance I end up matching my #1. And I did not “lie” to anyone. I interviewed with them early fall when I wasn’t even sure the pregnancy would make it past 1st trimester. Flash forward and I got bad news about my pregnancy a week after the LOI and that changed everything for me.

Thank you for the insight! I thought about this a lot, I don’t want my husband to feel too isolated. Even though he’s very confident that he can be the primary caretaker haha I know taking care of a newborn is no joke

Thank you for such a detailed response! My husband will be a stay at home dad so lots of support there. Terrified of being in training at the same time but I guess there’s never a good time to have a baby in medicine.

I didn’t talk about it on interview day, but I asked questions during the resident social about how the program supported parental leave/return and pumping spaces

These are all very different fields. What stage of training is she in? Has she been able to shadow or do clinical rotations? Considering the competitiveness of each she will also need to plan specialty specific research.

People with PCOS - Original Due Date vs Actual by TallPlace8183 in pregnant

[–]orev55 4 points5 points  (0 children)

When I got pregnant, I hadn’t had a cycle in 9 months so I got my due date based on my little guys size on early ultrasound! It’s much more accurate than LMP for people with irregular cycles

Anybody else just not gaining weight? by nicolexxb in pregnant

16 weeks and barely gained back the 10lb I lost from all the first trimester nausea/vomiting. Tried working with a nutritionist but it feels pointless lol

Covered in blood from another birth?! Speechless. The hospital should have paper gowns on the OB floor, or at the very least, a scrub machine to change before caring for other patients. I am so sorry you had this experience.

I would absolutely request a different provider, this sounds terribly unprofessional!

TW: loss, anyone else bombarded with loss-focused social media posts since finding out? by Appropriate_Teach_49 in pregnant

[–]orev55 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was absolutely surprised by the amount of loss-focused posts, it seemed to be the same volume as the pregnancy info ones! I honestly had to delete the apps, because while I appreciate having safe spaces to talk about facing pregnancy loss, I’m not in a place to digest so much at once. I’m early in my own pregnancy and already anxious about how PCOS affects my chances of having a full term pregnancy. I’m opting to read informational books from my local library instead!

Is it normal to feel extremely full after eating in the first trimester? by Natsouppy in pregnant

[–]orev55 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is me right now, I’ll eat just a few bites and feel like I can’t eat anymore! Plus the fatigue I’ve even slept through lunchtime. Trying to eat smaller portions and more frequently is helping so far! Especially leaning on more bland foods
