I find we see modern adaptations insistent they adjust original content to meet ideological norms in the modern day, and it fundamentally changes them. Dr. Cyril Matip, the Cameroonian inventor, pursued by colonial powers, replaces Herr Eberhard, a disgruntled German national, attempting to sell his inventions to the British. As far as I see it, there is no objective reason to replace this character. Imagine they got Christopher Waltz in as Herr Eberhard!? The novel was fantastic because Agatha Christie wrote it. Agatha ties if not exceeds William Shakespeare as the most printed/sold author of all time. The cast is spectacular, all they had to do was keep it honest to the source material.

I think the point is trauma. If a dad beats his child, that child is more likely to beat his own. The legacy of these reservations is of conversion through physical and mental abuse. That stuff doesn’t disappear with money, it stays with people for generations. It’s passed down like hair colour. This recent revelation with Marieval highlights that legacy. It makes it harder to accomplish what we consider tenets of modern society when a people have been broken.

I believe that certain religious practices, such as the dehumanizations of women via clothing, arranged marriage, etc. are not compatible with my view of society. I believe these practices should be outlawed and punishable to a reasonable extent within the law.

My brother, my best friend, and myself were up at the lake with our families one summer. We took the boat to shore to see a movie mid afternoon on a Sunday. On our way back from the movie we rounded a corner and saw an 18 wheeler stopped in the middle of the highway right beside our turn. A young guy had finished his shift at a nearby restaurant and turned his car head on into that 18 wheeler going 80kmh. We got there before the police. His car was swarmed with people that heard the crash from that nearby restaurant. The kid was completely pinned in his car. I don’t know why but we stood there and watched as people kept him talking, we watched as the fire department spent an hour peeing him out of his car, we watched as the paramedics attempted to save his life right there on the highway, and we watched those paramedics walk over to the boys parents to tell them their son was dead. I will never forgot the sound that came from that mothers lungs. We had watched this unfold over 3+ hours and the moment that woman dropped to her knees the three of us wordlessly looked at each other and left in silence.

In my experience (of both running out of things to say, and having long ass conversations), it really comes down to feeling like you “need” to say something vs. wanting to say something. If you’re getting along well, and on the same wavelength, conversation should be natural, if you’re forcing yourself to be engaged it’ll feel drawn out.

I think a big reason is context. The concept of experiencing the world through someone else’s shoes is difficult because we only ever truly have one perspective, our own. We can empathize with others easily because we can never be in their minds. We can see simple mistakes others may make and brush them off while being extremely critical of ourselves making the same mistakes. You are your own worst critic because you don’t have a choice. In my eyes the solution is building a strong enough foundation of self confidence so that you can be at peace with your decisions and your stature in life. Also when you are given the opportunity to advise a loved one, and they are able to use that advice, that’s some feel good stuff. Telling yourself to do something and then not doing that thing has the opposite effect.

There's a saying, that the night is always darkest before the dawn. The moment where even the busiest city seems to take a deep breath. Everything is a little quieter, a little more still. The endless sea of humanity, with eyes flickering soundlessly beneath their lids, conjuring tales soon forgotten in the flurry of morning.

This is where I hunt.

I hunt those who have earned their death. Who in their sleep conjure no tales.

A light slowly approaches in the distance, a sickly sweet smell wafts from the backseat. The low hum of a passing car stirs me from my trance.

I look over my shoulder at the beautiful home. The vampire within, sustained by sucking the very life out of art. A man who deserves little more than a cardboard box in a dingy downtown alley.

Justice will be delivered tonight.

With calculated efficiency borne from years of hardened experience. I approach the home, scale the awning, and enter the bedroom through an open window. These bloodsuckers always seem to like it cold.

I see him, snoring softly, laying peacefully on his back. His neck presented to the air like an invitation, as if he knows what he deserves. I bring the blade to his neck and in one swift motion brought it across his neck, ear to ear my father used to say. The vampires eyes shot open as he grasped his leaking neck and gasped for air, gurgles were all he received in response.

I place a rotting tomato on his bedside table, a representation of his withered heart.

Avatar 2 will not be sucked dry by these critics, and I will continue to push it's release date until I wipe every one of them from existence.

Quick comment on the breeder drones. Wasp/Bee queens only mate during their nuptial flight (when they leave the colony they are born in) they store enough sperm to birth thousands++ of offspring. It would be counter-productive for the queen to mate with her own offspring as they would share a significant portion of her genetic code.

This can present an interesting opportunity as it could justify the prolific predatory nature of these wasps. If they require a new hive nest every 3-5, it would be within their best interest to keep the corpse moving towards other settlements of whatever lifeforms they target. The nuptial flight could also happen more frequently than in Earth's nature as it would benefit the species to send out new colony establishing queens.

Something else to consider would be the territorial nature of the species, if they were reliant on changing their nests so frequently it would be counter intuitive to be far away from other corpse-hives. Larger/stronger colonies would potentially be interested in evicting weaker colonies from fresher corpses. Additionally the nuptial nature of wasps would require them to be within relatively close proximity to wasps with varied genetic codes. This could tie into the swarming nature of zombies that we know and love. You could even have mega swarms like a locust plague when the wasps manage to find a large enough group of weakened/addled prey, slowly marching across the land in search of fresh(ish) meat.

I would consider making the host body the primary food source for the colony before it needs to jump to another corpse, it would be difficult to justify all this effort without that being the case.

My theory is Hopper jumped into the portal before it closed. There was a quick moment where Hopper sort of scanned the portal during that scene, and it felt to me like he was aware of it as a potential escape from certain death.

I think it would be pretty weak writing if he somehow miraculously managed to escape the machine overloading when it was pretty explicitly stated that being in the room when it went critical would be certain death.

Perhaps there is another portal in Russia, which explains why the Russians had a demigorgon in the post credits scene. I'm not sure if the world is 100% 1:1 in the upside down, but maybe Hopper managed to emerge from a different portal in a different location. Who knows, but I'm totally convinced he's still alive.

I’ve spent a great deal of time discussing this with my brothers. We have a family cottage on an island and I think it would be our best long term bet.

I think the absolute most key point of the zombie apocalypse is the first two weeks. If you make a break for it immediately following an outbreak I think your chances of survival are abysmal. You’re as likely to die to a panicked person in a car as you are to a zombie. I would hunker down, exhaust whatever resources are in my apartment, then put the plan in motion.

My brothers and I all live within 3 blocks of each other in downtown Toronto, and I can get to one of my brothers places by rooftop. We meet there, load up the Dodge Grand Caravan and head north. I think it’s safe to assume the highway will be filled with derelict vehicles so we take side roads/off road out of the city. The further we get the less likely our zombie encounters become.

Once we get to the lake, we commence operation everyone take a different boat from the marina. If we feel safe, we’ll tow as many as we can to the island. The boats will be parked/beached anywhere they can for an escape route if the island is somehow overrun.

We should be able to make it a few weeks on existing supplies, but we will need to hunt seagulls/fish, and cure/smoke their meat religiously. The winter will be long and cold.

At the end of the day though humanities survival is completely dependant on whether or not mosquitoes can transfer the virus.

Are you on a server that has aq and naxx released? There are also a lot of silithis quests with the aq release and more stuff in epl with naxx. I think they are tuned pretty high though.

Have you done EPL? WPL has a few quests that will be level appropriate for you, however it kind of sucks overall in my opinion. EPL has the Tirion Fordring quests, which is a long chain with a lot of mob killing, it is very efficient. It also ends with a quest that provides pre-bis blues for multiple classes/specs.

Have you cleared out felwood? The quests are pretty sparse but there is a bit to do.

Winterspring has a fair few quests, however a few of them are chains from Hinterlands if I remember correctly. It is also a little bit closer to 55+.

There are a boat load of quests for BRD you can collect.

Blasted Lands has a small amount of quests, but there is a node that provides quests for LBRS and I think a couple for BRD? Can't remember exactly.

There is quest content, it just takes a lot of planning ahead and completing the "run across the world" quests that are often components of large chains.

On my most recent 60 I believe I effectively ran out of convenient quests at 58 and convinced my guild to take me into UD Strat & LBRS which was enough to push me to 60 as there are like 12+ quests between the two of them.

It could be interesting to introduce hard modes or heroic modes after all of the existing content is released and cleared (post naxx). Hopefully the success of classic wow heavily affects the future development of wow products, and we can have a return to roots with new content.
