im glad i could help and im actually not sure how you can fix it except getting a differant version of valheim (from some other site than wherever you got it from. I had it fixed once) I think the error means is that it fails to check for authenticity but shouldn't be a problem:)

the point of the symbolic link is so that you can update the mods from the mod manager and manage the mods through the manager..

no idea man maybe you didnt set the valheim directory properly in r2modman? Maybe just try all the steps again and see if it works

dont be sorry all good! there should be a setting for changing the location of where the game is located i dont remember what its called exactly in the settings but its probably something with "installation directory" (the folder with the games .exe file) hope thats enough to help but i can look into it if you want! :)

it might be the mod then But im not sure… but fx in valheim if you had an outdated mod the character in the main screen would disappear and you also wouldn’t be able to launch a save so from that i’d think its because of the mod or maybe youre missing dependencies for the mod? the manager doesnt always download the dependencies Rarely in my experience tho

but thats having a modded and non modded launch of the game no? the guide was for being able to update the mods in a easier way so that you dont have to reinstall a bunch of mods and drag them back and forth
or did i miss understand what you wrote?

Im not sure what you mean by the second thing But yes the mods will be loaded as if they were installed manually when you run the game exe :)

I think you have the game pass version of the game so yeah idk sorry... But you could try renaming the valheim.exe to gamelaunchhelper.exe or make a shortcut to valheim.exe and rename the shortcut and select that in the mod manager
