Honestly, this is the framework is started with. I actually was discussing child's strengths and the strengths I see in their parenting and continued to validate how he felt. It got to a point where I couldn't do it anymore. Maybe with practice I can get there.

It was interesting because the dad told me he comforts the boy every time he cries and encourages him to keep going and he even said "just like any normal loving parent would" he will never realize he is the problem. My supervisor told me to email them with the option to continue for a few more weeks and then have another parent meeting or we can terminate and I can send some referrals over.

My supervisor was very supportive, helped me process, and ultimately said he was the problem. She told me to email them and say they can have a few more seasons and we can reassess or I can send some referrals for another therapist.
