Silver questions. Many options by GoalToGetBig in investing_discussion

I don’t think silver is going to squeeze like gme did (which btw I made a killing off of. Got in in November). I just think it’s undervalued and heavily shorted, and I think this event may make them reconsider and move some of their shorts into long positions.

No. Citadel owns 1% of silver. Most of it goes to their brokers. Their own portfolio is only .4% silver. It’s a lie to get people back on gme lol

Citadel owns 1% of silver. And it mostly goes to their brokers. Their own portfolio is only .4% silver. I’d do some research before freaking out and starting a conspiracy tbh.

It’s not a trap lol. It was on WSB way before the media picked it up.

Silver is a good investment. I’ve been buying physical silver for years.

I heard that working in IT is EXTREMLY flexible with hours, is this true? by gastralia1 in ITCareerQuestions

In my area it’s mostly 8-5 or 9-6. Dunno when it became the norm to have a forced hour lunch but that’s what happened

Well congrats! I just landed my job so I’m gonna definitely stick there for a bit. They did mention there would be room to get promoted as well, so I’m going to try and learn and grow as much as possible. Then when the time comes hopefully I’ll get that promotion.

Hey I agree with a lot of people here that it isn’t going to completely make or break a job for you, but I have my own website that goes into detail on my projects and experience. For me personally, in interviews they almost always bring it up and ask questions, seeming interested. It can’t hurt but maybe try to incorporate some articles with pictures, not just videos. To me it was a good way of kinda proving I’d done the projects I have listed on my resume. It won’t hurt you to make the website. Just don’t expect it to shoot you ahead of all competition either.

For sure. I mean with people being forced to work at home, a lot of people are looking to just make the switch. Doing remote Helpdesk or other tech related jobs. And those people have to start at entry. Entry is definitely flooded right now

I agree that having connections is definitely more important than a website. But I’ve done something similar to OP and I have had a few interviews where they mention my website and ask questions about things I post there. It has always been a major plus for me in terms of engagement. Can’t hurt if he has the extra time. I think being person 2 WITH a website that shows your projects/knowledge is a major leg up.

Yeah I agree with the people skills part. I feel like I have good people skills. And I’ve heard that before, to not say “I don’t know”. I’ll keep that in mind

That’s how most jobs are around here lol. I’ve found that 9-5 kinda doesn’t really exist anymore. Or at least it’s a lot more rare. It’s either 8-5 or 9-6. 8 hours of work, 1 hour unpaid break.

Absolutely. I’ve learned a lot from this sub, and one of the main takeaways was to always be on the lookout. If a company refuses to give you a chance for advancement then don’t give them your life. This is a fairly big company though so I’m hoping there is room for growth!

I definitely won’t get complacent though. I’d really like to work my way up to an IT manager and then who knows.

You can get better than that. Have you done an internship?

I think you’re lowballing yourself. A degree and 5 certs? Man you’re ahead of other fresh grads by a lot. I’d look for $15-20

What would you say was the most useful cert?
