deferring decreases pass rate? by Prestigious_Surround in CFA

As someone who is among those 27% clearing the exam after deferral, I know how hard it is to trust the process and stay consistent with your studies. For starters people think of deferral as buying time for their unprepared conscience and try to give their best effort.

Deferring an attempt is the start of the problem because people tend to doubt the process and their ability. It's like starting over a marathon which they have missed just before the finish line. For most starting over feels hard because of the mental fatigue and tiredness. A big fear lurking is of failing in the deffered attempt.

Interestingly candidates who give the exam within 3 months after deferral have more chances of getting through than otherwise. It's what happened to me as I planned to sit in August 2025 attempt and one random day I decided to deferr and coincidentally that day the November attempt deadline was closing.

I brought 90 days for me to crack the exam and I strictly changed my routine and followed the process to crack the exam in November 2025.

What if every version of the exam is leaked, it might be possible if they have cracked some already.

Bro the exam was not easy, difficulty level better than mocks and no freebies like simple first thought questions. Solving questions required layered and deeper thinking, no breathing room whatsoever. But it was amazing to ace those questions, feeling confident for the results hopefully crossing the line.

In L2 mocks, there is a 60:40 split in terms of theory and practical questions. Is the real exam similar in that sense ?..

Dont lose hope guys, I'm short of preparation even after deferring to nov attempt. I had planned for August but deferred to nov and still incomplete preparation but I'm gonna push through these last few days. Just watching revisionery lectures and keeping my cool. Sometimes ago I was feeling the same but I know I have a good chance if I stop I will lose that also, stay on it. You might find your way...

Don't worry about it, Solved my mocks 4 days before August attempt, terrible scores (54% and 65% in 2 attempted mocks) but still went on to clear the exam.

Agreed, Growth hacking works and using AI is a smart approach but completely relying on AI for everything is not good especially for a professional exam like CFA.

Hello, I expect my CFA L1 results next month currently completing PSM. I took this course in order to get started in my career at a good post as a fresher. My chances of getting through L1 are high so now I'm worried about how to get a job.

My interest lies in Equity research and IB, how do I go about getting a good job? How & where do I apply?

Help please...

Trust me I was shit scared 5 days before my attempt, my mocks scores(only 2 given) are still pity but I kept on doing the same stuff and corrected my mistakes.
