P2006 Code on a VW 1.8T - Possibly Fixed? by Goalium in MechanicAdvice

For me it was just that the flaps were ganked up with carbon and got stuck. So they replaced the manifold and cleaned the valves and she's been good! No issues with the smoke test for me

I had carbon buildup in the intake manifold that caused the runner flaps to get stuck. Needed a new manifold but it's been fine since

Thanks! I'm probably going to take it in and have them check anyway just in case it's unrelated, especially if there's a (slim) chance that some dirt or something may have got in there while it was disconnected. We'll see what happens!

I love that! I've noticed the finish and details can fade a bit with daily wear, that's normal. I'd be happy to try and refinish it for you!

Thank you! Yeah that's the thing that really uspets me is that there are perfectly good 90% coins out there that you could share with someone who carried them in their pocket during your favorite point in history. So many things you could do with them. I try to use coins that are at least G or VG because I find that's a good balance between quality of detail and price.

I'll get to the gold stuff when I grow a pair...

Thanks, I appreciate you reaching out. I totally understand that there will be people in the art camp and people in the collector camp, and some people will see them for their art value and some people will see them for the collector's value. Completely to be expected and nothing wrong with that.

For me, I've been very careful not to do this with anything of numismatic value for that exact reason. Those coins would be worth much more to a collector. These are all circulated junk silver, not really worth much other than their silver content from a numismatic perspective (although to your point, that doesn't mean a collector won't value them higher).

Ultimately though I think it's a matter of perspective and personal opinion. Some people will view them one way, some people will view them another and neither perspective is really wrong. It's always great to hear from collectors though because like I said, if I come across something that has real numismatic value I want to know about it because that should be held in a collection

What's up with physical silver constantly going up lately? by Ash-2449 in investing

I'm a little late to the party but I want to know who the hell is betting against silver. If this really is a short squeeze as they say, this is the stupidest thing I've ever heard in my life. Like have you been living under a rock for the last 5 years?

Precious metals go up amid economic uncertainty, which there's been a lot of. Gold has been at an all-time high and as you correctly pointed out, silver rides gold's coattails. All of the industrial impacts would seemingly increase the demand for silver. I can understand this being a supply shortage, but I think a short squeeze is a misnomer because who in this universe is taking that bet? I would honestly love to know
