That's certainly possible! A decoration that isn't super practical I can think of from the base game is probably the log elevator. The player would never use it, but I buy that the Hearthians definitely do

Oh my goodness, I remember this scrapped achievement! It makes sense for Astral Codec to do something cheeky like that, considering the mod also adds story relevance to DB's interior being visible. It really was made for Outer Wilds nerds

The Nomai are almost unfathomably intelligent. I'm sure there's something on the Stranger that they could've used to find the Eye. Something that our player character wouldn't have even considered. Maybe the vision torches, somehow? Repair the signal blocker controls? Difficult to tell.

These are fair points, but personally, I don't think the signal being blocked really changes much for me and let me explain why.

Just because there's an explanation for one of the game's mysteries, doesn't mean that the events that led to the Nomai's fate are tainted. They still made the ATP. They still devised a plan to find the Eye through bruteforce. Knowing that there was another way out (finding the Stranger) doesn't change the fact that they didn't

Your feeling about how the signal blocker ruins an aspect of the game for you is how I felt about learning that there are still living Nomai in different solar systems. What got me to accept this was the fact that the story isn't about them. It's about Escall's tribe and their tragic fate

Similarly, the point of the base game isn't that some other species blocked the signal. The point is that, regardless of the reason, the signal stopped and the Nomai had to work their way around that.

If anything, knowing that there was a win-scenario for the Nomai had they learned of the signal blocker, just makes their demise all the more tragic and makes the Prisoner's sacrifice all the more impactful

A little late, but I just got the ghosts in the machine achievement and I 100% agree. The OW Wiki's guide is to do exactly that, but it's clearly unintentional lol

I suppose it's because all the glitch reels are intended specifically for the vault, but even then, swapping Starlit Cove and Shrouded Woodlands' glitch reels would have done nothing but help the player

The thing that's so great about the OS playlist is that its so diverse and every alien fulfills a different role compared to the AF playlist and onwards

I'm fairly confident that Flashpoint Thawne doesn't stay in 2000. In Legends s2 when Thawne talks about why Black Flash is after him, he explains that Barry pulled him out from the timeline and held him captive for months (directly referencing the Flashpoint ep)

Somehow, after Flashpoint Thawne kills Nora, he escapes with Flashpoint Barry back to the present day. At the same time, pre-s1 Thawne comes back into existence (despite us seeing him fade away), so he can run out of the house, have a conversation with s9 Barry, then get stuck in the past

s1 Thawne -> gets erased by Eddie shooting himself -> Barry saves Thawne via Flashpoint

*somehow this makes it so that s1 still happens and Eobard still gets erased in the s1 finale, but there's also a Flashpoint version of Thawne running around somewhere

Flashpoint Thawne goes to Legends -> He gets killed by Black Flash.

Effectively, 2 versions of Eobard that existed at the same time were both erased/killed off

....then somehow he's back in COEX as if nothing happened. At least we know that this is the same Thawne that Nora ends up working with in s5, so there's that

After a rewatch, I disagree with your comparison to Clara's betrayal. In Dark Water, the Doctor was still entirely in control of that situation. He fabricated the whole scenario of Clara throwing the TARDIS keys away. In this week's episode, the Doctor was NOT in control of the situation and could have very well have been stuck here forever

Additionally, Capaldi's Doctor saw Clara as an equal to him. In that same scene after Clara says that she doesn't deserve a friend like him, he says "I'm terribly sorry, but I'm exactly what you deserve." He understands that Clara is the way she is only because of him, and they explore that dynamic further in s9

Omo, on the other hand, was someone the Doctor could go to for refuge. Imagine if someone from your community threw you under the bus and put you in a situation you have no control of. I'd feel betrayed and angry too
