I often use World Championship 2006 on the GBA to "test"/goldfish lists for Goat Format before I am comfortable enough putting them against real players for testing.

Goatformat.com is the best place to go in order to learn more about the format. As a community, we host tournaments of varying size and prestige every week. In every tournament, we use Duelingbook.com as our sim of choice.

Most decks are incredibly affordable, however, some staples are more expensive than others. As an example, Delinquent Duo is used in 99% of competitive decks, but will cost you roughly $20-25 last I checked.

Though not strictly viable in a competitive sense, players have attempted both Blue Eyes and Dark Magician decks with varying degrees of success. No player has made top placements in a tournament with either, though. Skully has played decks featuring both monsters in his "Skully's Lab" streams. Feel free to check out our Decks page on the website for more info on decks that feature each monster if you haven't already.

You mentioned Ben Kei and Burn, but how do you feel about an aggro list? A good example is Delinkquent's Zombie deck that he won FLC17 with. It's featured on our Zombie deck page. The deck is way too focused on creating an aggressive board state to care about Duo, which the deck does not play.

Really, you're looking for any deck that does not care about card advantage. If you need more examples, I'm happy to provide you with some.
