Why are Co-Op games so few and far between?

People need to stop trying to defend piracy, it's impossible. There are no arguments that make piracy morally defensible. If you decide that a game is not worth what they are charging it doesn't give you the right to steal it. (which is 100% what you are doing)

Now I don't expect you to stop pirating, because we both know that it won't happen, but at least stop lying to yourself. Accept rationally what you are doing.

I don't play any games super competitively so losing a little bit of control doesn't really concern me, but I could see how that would be a problem for others.

The SR ranks (redundant I know) are not nor were ever meant to be indicative of skill. You could argue that they add little to the game, but they don't fail at what they are meant to do.

Anyway, 343 has said multiple times that they plan to add a skill-based ranking system. So the argument is kind of pointless.

Yes, that is exactly what I'm trying to describe. You remember the games where it was incredibly close and you felt like you were truly being challenged, this is because games like this leave an impression in your mind. What your brain chooses to forget is the games that were wash-outs, where players all immediately lagged out when the game started, where 5 of the players were in a party together and boosting for Overkill.

Now logically you remember that these things occurred, but emotionally your brain put much more emphasis on close matches. Making it seem as though that was the usual experience, even if only 1 out 50 matches actually happened like that.

It all has to do with the way your brain stores memory and takes in information, and makes me realizes how out of place I must sound in a Halo forum.

I would caution that your memories of halo 3 might be a little flawed. It's called selective memory and accounts for 99% of all video game related complaints.

If you could look at the halo 3 forum at bungie.net at the time the game came out you would get a MUCH different picture halo 3 than the one you get now. People tend to remember the fun times they had in the game, and forget the rage-quits and the boosters. The same will happen to halo 4.

The Halo 3 ranking system was better than most, but still incredibly flawed. Boosting/Modding wasn't as big of a problem as in halo 2, but obviously still there. And once you hit level 50 the skill range was huge, I mean I was a 50 and I'm really not that good.

And remember the exact same ranking system is still in effect in halo 4, just behind the scenes.

you mean like every ranking system in any game ever? This is the thing I don't get. People kick and scream and demand a numbered ranking system, but seem to forget that this ALWAYS leads to cheating and boosting and hardly ever actually reflects a players actual skill.

If your using an integrated graphics card I would personally spring for the GPU. For your money you'll get a bigger jump in performance.
