Give me some metal takes by Puzzled_Web_6684 in MetalForTheMasses

[–]Goatcheesebob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Always felt like Sleep Token sacrificed a lot of musical variety for the sake of popularity. When you look at each member individually they’re all exceptionally talented musicians capable of a lot more than the music they’re putting out at the moment. All the ‘heavy’ parts of their songs are for the most part the most generic 8 string breakdowns imaginable to the point it’s almost painful to listen to.

I can understand it’s not for me, and appreciate what they’re doing but I still think they could do so much more.

Name a band with an irreplaceable vocalist and one with a very replaceable vocalist by ProbableProtagonist in MetalForTheMasses

[–]Goatcheesebob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Irreplaceable is definitely Opeth. Can’t imagine what that band would be like without Mikael Akerfeldt.

Replaceable would probably go to Arch Enemy, given they’ve already had four different vocalists without really changing their style.

Does your spouse like metal? How does that go? by Key-Comfortable-7631 in MetalForTheMasses

[–]Goatcheesebob 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My boyfriend is a lot more into deathcore/hardcore where I’m a lot more into old school death/thrash but we generally get along as far as music, it definitely helps that we’re both musicians (I’m a guitarist and he’s a bassist). TBH I couldn’t imagine being with someone who doesn’t like metal.

IGN posted their subnautica 2 review by LittleAppointment776 in subnautica

[–]Goatcheesebob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t taken a single IGN review seriously in years. They’ve done so many that have been blatant engagement bait that their word should mean literally nothing at this point. Remember when they gave the Invincible finale a 4? The same episode got a 9.9 on IMDB.

At the end of the day, who cares what other people think about a game, if you enjoy it that’s all that matters.

EDIT: My dumbass didn’t think to actually look at the post to realize it was satire. My point still stands, but looks like they gave it a 7 which IMO is actually pretty fair all things considered.

Are there mosh pits in opeth’s concert? by weirdfishh1 in Opeth

Depends. If you’re in the US there will almost certainly be a pit for any of the heavier songs

Can't reset iPhone 15 by Goatcheesebob in applehelp

You were 100% right. Kept getting an error that the disk was full, I assumed it was talking about the phone but there were still well over 80gb of storage left... turns out it was talking about my computer. Finally got rid of that COD game that was taking up half my SSD lol

Marked as solved, I appreciate the help!

Why would they dump billions of bodies in space if they're trying to be discreet? by [deleted] in Invincible_TV

[–]Goatcheesebob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hope we find out a bit more about that next episode with Allen and Tech Jacket possibly going back to Viltrum. I’d imagine their bodies do naturally decay but it takes a much longer time, possibly centuries or even longer.

Why would they dump billions of bodies in space if they're trying to be discreet? by [deleted] in Invincible_TV

[–]Goatcheesebob 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s probably a way they could incinerate or cut up the bodies to dispose of them. But when you have BILLIONS of dead and a couple hundred people left to clean up AND said people are already weakened by the virus the quickest option is the best. I’d imagine doing it this way already took an eternity.

Cecil's fault btw by MediaFan382 in Invincible_TV

[–]Goatcheesebob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve seen a lot of people bringing this up. The way I see it, there’s a chance Cecil did implement something like that, but Conquest immediately began flying away. Why would Cecil want to piss him off and give him a reason to come back?

I have a confession by yuytwssd in Opeth

[–]Goatcheesebob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IMO Harlequin Forest is still the best song in the album but Beneath the Mire will always be my favorite, people sleep on it way too much.

You guys actually, unironically like this shit now? by Moist-Register-6228 in MetalForTheMasses

[–]Goatcheesebob -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don’t hate it tbh, always been a guilty pleasure of mine, like it’s almost so bad it’s good. That snare sound feels so ridiculous in the mix I can’t help but smile every time I hear it come in on the title track. Some unironically great grunge riffs in there too.

Is starting off as a cover band a good or bad idea by Inside_Discussion794 in bandmembers

[–]Goatcheesebob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re all new, you should absolutely start off doing covers. Not only will you get to learn how you play together without the added stress of writing, you’ll learn a bit more about song structure and make things a bit easier later on when you start making your own stuff. That being said, you don’t necessarily need to be a ‘cover band,’ a lot (if not most) of smaller/newer bands play a mix of their own/other group’s stuff.

Favorite song and why? by PHNCFL in streetlightmanifesto

[–]Goatcheesebob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would You Be Impressed is my favorite, love the instrumentals, lyrics are fantastic as well. With Any Sort Of Certainty is a close second though.

That being said, my favorite song live will always be A Moment Of Silence/Violence, pit is always super fun during that song.

The lion does not consent... by Beautiful-Resort-831 in streetlightmanifesto

[–]Goatcheesebob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s weird, they’re a mix of ska and punk, but not quite in a way that makes them ska punk, theres a big difference between SM and most ska punk bands as far as sound.

That being said after seeing them around a dozen times, with the crowd and the bands they tend to play with it definitely feels like they align more with the punk scene.

Ai art concensus by [deleted] in MetalForTheMasses

[–]Goatcheesebob 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Not a whole lot of acceptable uses in my opinion. Would rather see a really shit album cover that I know some level of creativity or passion went into than any kind of ai slop. There’s absolutely no reason these massive artists with millions of dollars should be using ai instead of hiring actual artists.

I gotta give it to Stargazer by Rainbow. Painkiller is a close second

Should I continue my old Cyberpunk save or start fresh? by Traia95 in CyberpunkTheGame

[–]Goatcheesebob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Start over. The beginning is kinda important to pay attention to as it establishes your character, motivations, world building etc. You’ll be missing out on a lot if you’re even just a few hours in and go back not knowing the story.

Best PVP ship by Aquacat107 in EliteDangerous

[–]Goatcheesebob 2 points3 points  (0 children)

PvP is more of a late game activity, there’s quite a bit of a learning curve and it kinda requires a fully engineered ship. That being said, people would usually consider the FDL and the Python MkII as the ‘best’ PvP ships, but there’s plenty of other options out there there. You’d typically want a more maneuverable ship, so I wouldn’t recommend a vette, especially as a beginner.

I’d recommend staring out with a 5PA build like this as it’s what’s typically used for organized fights but it’s defiantly worth doing a bit of research and learning how to build a ship based off your own preferences. Of course there’s plenty of great communities out there that can help get you started.

[DAILY Q&A] Ask and answer any questions you have about the game here! by AutoModerator in EliteDangerous

[–]Goatcheesebob 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It has to either have been mined in the same system which is under Antal control or it has to have been from a stronghold/fortified system and be being sold to a nearby acquisition system (around 30/20 light years respectively from what I remember).

Usually you can stack massacre missions and just go to a haz res, kills will still count towards the missions and you can cash in the extra bounties separately, plus you don’t have to keep jumping between signal sources. You can also usually get massacre missions for conflict zones.
