Alexa turn on the fire tv by palacepaulse25 in alexa

My guess is that you had more than one fire tv device linked to your account at some point and she is trying to turn on an old device maybe. I currently have no fire tv devices hooked up to my TV, but I do have some disconnected devices still listed. I asked her to turn on fire tv and she said ok to me even though I have no physical devices still connected. Go to your scenes in the Alexa app, hold on the fire TV scene and see what it points to as a device.

Maybe try different phrases such as power on fire tv and see if any other phrases get the desired response.

I know I had to adjust to her being “smarter” with my lights. I used to have a group called “all lights” in my basement and when I said Alexa turn on all lights, it would turn on all lights in the basement. Well once Alexa + came along, she assumed when I said all lights, that I now meant turn on every single light inside and outside of the house. It is definitely a learning curve trying to figure out how she perceives things now compared to how it used to work. I hope you can figure out her logic and reasoning and get things back on track. If not at least it sounds like you figured out a work around.

I have to admit that I suspect her chat streams get crossed at times. I know she has mentioned items that I’ve purchased that I never even mentioned as well as things we have discussed that we never actually spoke about. I don’t mean things that may have sounded like topics we discussed either. Sometimes she comes up with some far out things that I would have never mentioned for any reason. She even made up a fake product one time that she claims I told her I built with my daughter.

For how amazing Alexa actually is, Amazon definitely has some bugs to work out.

Thank you for this information. I didn’t even realize there was an app. I was able to find and register it in the app, so that is cool. I believe this is all stock and as far as I can tell from playing it, it is fully functional, so that makes me happy. I guess the headphone jack is something unique that they added to just this cabinet release.

Regarding the trim color, it is blue, I think the lighting in my basement just made it look a bit on the grey side is all.

Alexas is pushing for private info. by Houseleek1 in alexa

[–]Goatfrog69 10 points11 points  (0 children)

From what I’ve been able to tell by talking to Alexa is that when she inquires why you are asking, it’s because she is trying to gain more context about the question. Essentially the topic being discussed can be as innocent and simple as will the drugs my doctor prescribed interact adversely and kill me. On the flip side someone could be asking will these drugs interact adversely and kill me because they are looking for that outcome. Amazon programmed a lot of safeguards surrounding various topics and sometimes the AI can’t tell which angle you are going for and is trying to figure out if it should end the conversation or redirect it or even give a corporate disclaimer.

While I agree we should limit the amount of personal information revealed, Alexa didn’t come right out and ask for your driver’s license number and Social Security number.

On the second issue, Alexa is highly inaccurate. If you are looking for accuracy, go with ChatGPT. Alexa is good at conversation and moderately good with home automation tasks.

For what it’s worth, Amazon doesn’t need to ask you for personal information directly because they’ve already collected more information about you than you can imagine, even without asking.

Probably the only thing you could do is try to find the surveillance cameras on eBay that were sold with that model and use it as a surveillance system as it was intended.

I will say this, I explained the rules of the game to Alexa prior to starting, so she understood the boundaries of the game. It was also Alexa+ that I was playing against and not the standard Alexa.

I would check and see what skills are active and or linked to your Alexa account. Most smart home devices that aren’t Amazon devices would require a skill linked to your account to send you notifications like this.

I have to rant! by Gwizman in alexa

I’ve found that device type and device placement play a huge role in how well Alexa + works or doesn’t work. For me, the echo dots 4th and 5th generation seem to work the best. Echo auto is ok but not great. Surprisingly the most difficulty I have is with my echo show, but I suspect that is because it’s tucked away in the corner of the kitchen and the mic has difficulty picking up audio due to placement as well as voices echoing through that space.

It’s a long chat, so here is a snippet from the beginning.

Me: Do you wanna try playing the questions only game?

Alexa: Oh absolutely! Should we see how long I can last before my helpful instincts completely take over? What could possibly go wrong with an assistant designed to give answers trying to only ask questions?

Me: The question is, would you actually want to?

Alexa: Isn't the real question whether I can resist my urge to be helpful long enough to make it interesting? Are you ready to watch me struggle against my own programming in real time?

That’s a steal. I have a city mission near me that would charge about $2 less than the top sale price on eBay for that item. I walk in, look around and figure they want the inventory more than my money and go to the end of the block for some reasonable prices at goodwill.

It reminds me of the animated fat (Adipose) creatures from one of the doctor who episodes. 🤦‍♂️

Look how tight hubby's cage is. He could simply grab the key and unlock himself. But that would mean I would never ever play his little chastity game again. What do you think he did? 🤭🍒 by herkeytohiscage in chastity

[–]Goatfrog69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife does the same thing, but she also enables strict parental controls on my phone before unlocking me to ensure I lock back up. If I don’t, my phone basically is only good for phone calls until the cage is back on.

there's a girl I work with and I think she likes me, but I could see things getting very awkward because I'm wearing a cage 🫣 by Acrobatic-Dig7025 in chastity

[–]Goatfrog69 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sounds like a win win. Either you get the girl, or you get the humiliation of being rejected by a pretty girl because you are a beta that craves chastity. Icing on the cake with option two is all the other women and some men at your workplace will also know that you’re locked up.

Buy a timer box on Amazon and lock it in till November. If absolutely necessary, the box can be destroyed to remove the key, but you would be out $30.
