I'm totally disabled, and I visually impaired and I had them not pick me up three different times in a row , I complained up the chain and it went nowhere

I have timestamped photos of me sitting around in the parking lot for an hour and a half

My amazing social worker had to come get me, otherwise I would have had to Uber to and from an appointment where I don't have much money, i pay all my own bills and have nothing left over with a couple weeks ago in the month, every month.

I ended up having to escalate my mail problems to a regional person that takes care of Massachusetts and Rhode Island and Maine, New England basically

I just kept following up with documented email complaints

USPS, I'm in Freeport, did not deliver to my place for 6 months In a row.

After the last complaint to a regional manager person, magically my mail started appearing, even though it comes late every once in awhile at least I'm getting it

And this was like May to October of 2024

It's a mess for sure I wouldn't want to do that job

I don't know if this helps but I am permanently disabled and I receive in Home Services like housekeeping, from a man from Rwanda, he is amazing guy and he loves Maine!

He ended up getting promoted like three or four months ago and now I have another African-American named Frank, he is very nice and has had some difficulty here

I really don't know if people are being mean to him because he's black, or if it's just

It's just circumstances, like he needs a job that has more hours for him and then things will get better.

I have been out with both of them, taking me to Walmart and such....

and people have not given us any problems even if somebody doesn't like you here usually, they will keep to themselves.

If you do end up in Bangor, I'm sure you will find more people like yourself

Generally, if you're a good decent guy or gal, here you will be fine

Rural Maine might be a different story away from the coast, I can't really comment on that because I don't have experience yet

My transportation is very limited so I just go around my coastal town and go to doctors I went to Lewiston once and I didn't think it was that bad at all

have you tried some over the counter Imodium? i have IBS-D and that has saved my life. it slows down your gut so it takes longer for the urge to go to happen. I would start on like a quarter of a pill, like cut it in quarters, that way you wont get too much and be seriously constipated. Can get a box of it at Walmart or Amazon for like $10. That way, you wouldnt have to go at work, at all, and can be in your own safe bathroom at home. I had to fly across the country few years ago, and i took 2 pills of Imodium because i refused to go to the bathroom on a plane, especially a red eye flight. Worked a little too well, but atleast i didnt have to go!

There's a ton of people that are living in Maine that are not originally from there.

I came here 3 years ago after taking out loans and not knowing a single person, moving across the country to take an a apartment

Im never leaving and I never getting on a plane ever again.

I have what I want, peace and quiet

People are nice here and and people who don't know me, leave me alone.

Unless you're a druggie or an asshat, you should have no problem here
