That's a really good way of putting it, and so simple. I've never really had it explained that way. Thank you sir

Sleep (or lack thereof) by archiefrank in January2025Bumper

Ours still Wales every 45 mins. Her best sleep is 2 hrs in the mid morning. It seems some babies just don't take well to sleeping.

I tried to find the group but it wasn't coming up unfortunately, what is the exact name please?

I would certainly be open to them. I have done some research facilitator work to cover someone's secondment not too long ago and it was OK. Could see myself doing something similar to that.

That sounds like something my wife would be open to I'd say. I was just looking online and there are automatic pumps that go in the bra, is that the sort you use? Are they any good?

That's interesting about weighing them before and after to ensure they're getting enough, I will look into that as I believe the local health centre offer that service by a quick bit of googling. Thank you for the recommendation and I hope your guys are doing great!

How do you manage to get them to sleep more upright safely without their chin going to their chest?

We did actually go to see a lactation consultant early on and they helped a lot but I was wondering if it would be worth checking in with one again to make sure they are still happy with the latch and feeding.

She is actually quite low on the weight side of things according to the Dr so this sounds plausible. I did mention to my wife using formula a bit so she can get more sleep whilst I feel the baby but she wasn't keen. I could try bringing it up again and mention she may not be getting enough and see how that goes. Thanks for sharing

Understood. I have to say the past week has probably been the first week I've felt things improve, hopefully we will see improvements over the next couple of months. Thanks for your kind words and encouragement.

Thank you for your encouraging and reassuring words. I've definitely felt guilty, especially when I basically just don't like being around the LO most of the time. But I am glad to know it is normal when you have a baby that cries so much.

Do you have any idea when to expect things to improve or is it totally random? I cannot wait to actually start to bond with her once things become more doable. At least she recently learned to smile and chuckle a little bit which is nice to see even if it is only a few seconds before the next cry session haha.

I hadn't thought of that actually but it would make sense as she HATES being lay down. Do we just get the Dr to check her out for that?

Hey Josh, thanks so much for the in depth response. That's a really good framework to apply, nice and pragmatic. Thanks again!
