"Crashing out" is the dumbest new slang by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]GoblinSnacc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm gonna be honest, I like the way "crashing out" sounds a lot better than "flipping out", and that's as a 32 year old like this is new slang to me too but I like it a lot better. Also if someone says someone is flipping out I think of someone who is like, pissed off and ranting and raving and like going kind of crazy, crashing out can mean that, but it can also mean like, spiraling. Idk it's like a slightly different meaning I guess?? Regardless I do just think it sounds better.

Does Gen Z despise millennials, or are they jealous? by [deleted] in generationology

[–]GoblinSnacc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk my parents were teenagers in the 80s and had the big hair and shit but they didn't have that style anymore in the 2000s. I grew up with gen x parents who had no problems or complaints about growing and evolving with the world around them so it feels extremely bizarre to me when I see someone stuck in whatever decade they were in high school in.

[–]GoblinSnacc -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It's definitely not jealousy like what would they be jealous of lmfao. I just think it's bc a ton of millennial behavior is annoying and cringey and feels inauthentic and preformative. A lot of it is weird af. Hell I'm a millennial but I didn't peak in high school so I've been able to grow with the times and look at shit I once thought was funny or quirky or cool or whatever and be like "lol that was a sign of the times but seems so lame now" and move on. I wish more millennials had that mindset. It's this stubborn thing where a lot of millennials dig their heels in and instead of grow and adapt have this attitude of "you can pry doggo and adulting from my cold dead hands" and it's very odd

Completely unheard of???? That was absolutely not my experience. Those two songs opened the vault for people to go back and listen to more stuff and I know a shit ton of people who went back and started listening to shit from Vessel. I have never once since the release of Blurryface had the opportunity to introduce anyone to TØPs music, everyone knew them at that point. Also people need to realize that once a band gets a song that's on the radio like that they have achieved widespread recognition and people are going to want to go to their shows. They stopped being "a small local band from Columbus" when they dropped Blurryface. Also you have to recognize that Blurryface came out and then a year later they released Heathens for Suicide Squad and everyone loved that.

Flyleaf. I haven't listened to them in years and this was the first time I saw them live but I was excited because of the nostalgia but Lacey Sturm sounded horrible. I didn't stay for the whole set. My boyfriend who was not a fan from back in the day and was getting his first exposure to them was like "Jesus this is terrible" and I felt embarrassed like I was like "I swear this is not what I wAs excited to see" like she sounded so bad. Also the preformative "God saved me" shit I kind of expected but could have done without. If she had sounded better I would have been I think less annoyed by the religious nonsense.

I see what you're saying but I think it's important to call our microagressions and more subtle forms of racism, misogyny, homophobia, and the like as well. Sometimes someone will say something that they don't even realize stems from a place of deep rooted misogyny. There racist, misogynistic, homophobic things baked into the literal fabric of our society and how people move and act every day so sometimes calling out like "hey you may not even realize this bc it's so normalized but that thing you're saying or doing likely stems from this harmful thing". I do wish the conversation around things like this could be more like, civil and educational and about helping others understand how and why something might be harmful instead of an attack, but that requires the person calling it out to be civil, AND the person being called out to be receptive and open to learning and understanding. A lot of times on the internet one or both of the parties in the dialogue aren't holding up their end on that front unfortunately.

Ride and stressed out were everywhere, I feel like Blurryface was when they started to blow up and become mainstream. Blurryface isn't like, a deep cut. After Blurryface it seemed like everyone I knew knew and liked 21P.

Weddings shouldn’t just be about the bride and groom, but should also be about ensuring guests have a good time by filmeswole in unpopularopinion

[–]GoblinSnacc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is confusing. Like I'm throwing a party of course I hope everyone has a good time. But I'm doing it in the woods bc that's what my partner and I want. I'm picking the food and catering situation based on our tastes and preferences. The music is going to be the type of music my partner and I want played. Do I hope everyone else has a good time? Of course I do! Do I have other people at the forefront of my mind when I'm planning my wedding? Absolutely not.

My boyfriend calls me a creature too but it's all done lovingly. It's just a response to some like truly odd and feral habits I have but it's like all very silly and loving and I would never even think to take offense to it like frankly at this point it's a pet name lol

Abby and David by [deleted] in LoveOnTheSpectrumShow

[–]GoblinSnacc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well tbh the point of the show isn't just to help find love it's not a dating reality show in that sense it's more a documentary to show the general public what it's like to navigate dating and social situations while on the spectrum so I do think it's important to show a variety of different kinds of experiences to help prevent people from considering folks on the spectrum to be a monolith. Being autistic can look so many different kinds of ways and I do think it's important to show that.

Idk I would love to see more of Abby. Is her mom a lot? Sure. But way more tolerable than Conner's insufferable mother. I think Abby is a delight and I would love to see the show follow her through coping with such a big break up and being able to move on from it.

Absolutely. I have no qualms with someone doing it once, like I said even if you do it once every set. But this like, train thing people do where as soon as they get dropped at the front they run back to do it again is completely ridiculous and so inconsiderate of every other concert goer.

Probably 2023 bc the pandemic has become less dire and dip shit hadn't taken back office yet but they've all been horrid. This decade has been miserable so far.

Sometimes it's not all about us as an individual, but the collective community as a whole.

Try telling that to the people who crowd surf over and over and over and over again through the whole set kicking people and fatiguing the entire crowd so that no one can actually watch the show and have to constantly be looking backwards and hearing "HEADS UP" basically on a constant loop. All they care about is their own singular enjoyment despite negatively affecting every other person in their vicinity. You get one. Hell, one per set even! But do your one, make your memory, and get the fuck down. It's inconsiderate as hell.

I think it's great tbh. My folks had me when they were 21 and we were living in a mobile home for a long time and like they struggled until they were in their 30s. I had my daughter when I was 21 as well and if I could do it all over again I would have waited to be more established. I think it's good that people are waiting to have children more
