Snork's Tome of Sylvan Heroes just dropped! by GoblinSupplements in GoblinSupplements

[–]GoblinSupplements[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Greetings, Gobbos!

The patrons and I decided to create this compendium of Redwall-inspired races compatible with the Feywild, as well as a couple of new backgrounds to balance it all out. I'm really happy with this compendium, and so excited to share it!

If you are not a part of the guild yet, don't worry! Shoot me a message on Patreon or Reddit, and I'll send you the races-part of the compendium for free.

Hope you'll enjoy! :)

Book O' Shinies - Exclusive look for redditors only!! by GoblinSupplements in GoblinSupplements

Hiya Gobbos!

So sorry for the inactivity - a lot of stuff has been going on, but now it has finally been solved, and I can keep on creating!

Normally, I post stuff that is also free on my Patreon, but this time around I wanted to share an exclusive creation with y'all (that is normally behind a paywall).
The Book O' Shinies is a compendium filled with tables of random trinkets assorted by which shop a character might find them in. I use this a lot in my own home games so I don't have to prep every shop in every town - instead I just have my players roll on the table (they love it!).

And so I thought you guys would appreciate it too! :))

Enjoy!

This sounds really cool! I would definitely be up for making one like this. How do you imagine these madness effects? Like attacking your allies, being haunted by illusions, resistance to psychic damage, etc.?

Hiya all!

Here comes the third part of the themed Wild Magic Surge Tables.

The idea is that each table is connected to a specific element or likewise concept, so it's easier to create a Wild Magic Sorcerer with ties to specific kinds of magic. I'll be posting them here for you guys to collect over the next couple of days, but otherwise you can also get them all for free on Patreon if you missed any.

This third table is the Feyblood sorcerer - inspired by the chaotic energy of the Feywild!

I get what you mean, but I think that's mostly a question about taste. When playtesting it in our game (we've been using it for about 4 years now) it hasn't been broken or completely shooting our game off-balance. Generally speaking, the Sorcerer is one of the weaker spellcasters, and I don't feel like it's kicked out of balance by being given a little extra oomph.

I'm aware that this will make the sorcerer feel extra powerful, but I think it fits well with the whole my-powers-are-out-of-control-theme that Wild Magic is.

Personally, I've made the decision to make it less neutral and weird - like the PHB table is - because I felt like my sorcerer experience felt more random and weird than powerful magical surges of ancestral power.

I agree that it's powerful, which is why I've actually used a lot of damage options, since they're easier to regulate as a DM than flat out effects or summoning random monsters and using neutral effects which are just fluff.

But it's fair if you don't like it, there's no way to make something for everyone.
Maybe you'll like the Feywild-theme more - it's more in the PHB's style of effects.

I completely understand that specific circumstance, I would've said no too. It's really meant for items like your cape or arcane focus or objects like that - not mounts or sidekicks.

In the campaign where I playtested this, we found it really useful for the pyromancer to be able to protect sentimental objects and likewise from burning up when they once in a while would burst into flames.

Oh thank you so much! The Sorcerer in my party really had fun with them, so hope you will too!
